I'm not that familiar with his game but the little I've seen he reminds me a bit of Kyle Lowry. If we could get peak Kyle Lowry in this economy at that amount I would be very happy. For this team specifically.

The only way the rockets could benefit from a sign and trade is if they get to dump Tate or if they have plans for the full MLE.
Been pushing for him but that 3rd year makes this a much bigger risk than I was anticipating. It’s not just another year, it can throw a wrench in a lot of things. He’s never had a healthy season I believe. We should be careful and not play him 37 minutes. Closer to 32 minutes would be nice. On the bright side we have ourselves a hell of a championship caliber two way PG with amazing assist to turnover ratio. He needs to take 1-2 fewer shots than he did last season. This means we have FVV, 3rd year Sengun and Amen primarily running the offense. That’s a giant improvement in playmaking. KPJ and Tyty could still surprise us too.
Seeing that they might have to throw some second rounders at us to make that happen. That would be a cool bonus.

Well said. Like you, I'm not crazy about what this is costing us, and the length, depending on the contract's fine print, but this is the guy I wanted. I hope we can add Brook Lopez. That would be a great bookend and remake the team, in my opinion.
Teams well above the tax have been dumping players for 2 weeks now. Where have you been? If you're paying tax you aren't worried about the floor. Also, if you want to sign someone you may need to unload salaries to do it. If what you are saying is true, why is the opposite happening?
Nobody would make this team win a championship in the next two years. The goal now is to actually develop our young guys instead of letting them play Silas ball and learn absolutely nothing about being pros.
