Is Boban under contract? I hope he's here next year. I'd love to see Boban and Brook make the bond like Jalen and Jaygup.
Scares me that he's 34. That's right about the point where even the best players start to suffer a significant age related performance drop. Only guys who are absolute fitness nuts seem to keep going unimpeded as they hit the mid 30's. Off the top of my head looked at Deke, Hakeem, David Robinson, and Tim Duncan. All of them hit a wall between 34 and 36. Go look at production for your favorite historical center, right around age 34-35 there is a pretty good chance you can see in the stats that that is when they started to fade. If we get like 60%-80% of the player he has been for the last 3-4 years, and we overpay by a huge premium relative to the last few years of production... I fear that that could end badly, like Rockets-era-fat-Glen-Rice levels of badly. (Rice was traded to Houston at age 34, BTW, which was where he, too, fell off a cliff.)
Feels like a 3rd year is what will be required to move this across the finish line and I imagine we will do that.
We're not signing some max 35 year old superstar and expecting him to carry us to the playoffs, though. Brook is jsut a placeholder. Have to spend money. If this is his last effective season, he comes off the bench for Alpy
For capologists, the 3 year $130m FVV signed. Does it count the 1st year salary $40.8m off our cap this year or the 3 year average $43.33m? Trying to figure out how much we still have left for Lopez.
