    Something to watch out for:

    Assuming we pick up KMJ’s option (we will), we can renegotiate his salary this year upwards from $1.9M as long as we still have the cap space to do so.

    That makes him an extremely flexible trade piece in terms of matching salary, since as a player KJ is obviously worth a bit more than $1.9M.

    For example, as long we have even $100k of cap space, KJ could be traded straight up for Royce O’Neale by renegotiating KJ upwards to $2M and taking back Royce O’Neale’s $9.5M. Probably a fair value trade and significant cap relief for Brooklyn.

    We could do the same to acquire Olynyk using only $2.8M in cap space.

    That also implies Jabari was off the floor. He was awful the first 3/4 of the season.

    I would do a double sign and trade with the Nets for Cam Johnson if that kept his price tag down, but I think Detroit would blow that up.

    Someone also mentioned that a Cavs insider is saying that Cleveland also has interest. Let’s expand that market baby.

    I like KJ, but the added bonus of trading him is that we don’t have to hear from his father anymore. ;)

    If the Rockets can fix Amen’s broken ass shot, they can fix KJ’s too. You never know, but the Rockets might also be able to teach KJ how to play defense.

    That is kinda of the problem. With proper coaching the Rockets young players might develop into gems. If the young player(s) get traded now, even before their first training camp with the new coach, the Rockets run the risk of selling low.

    Just want to casually point out that the Suns have nothing that we want. The cupboard is barer than bare. We can take them off the list…hopefully.
