I would agree with one thing, men cannot get pregnant.........to be honest I have never personally heard anyone say they could. One thing that struck me was he thinks woke means students will get dumber, I personally don't think the education system is woke, I am not sure what changed to make it appear "woke", I turned out just fine, the issue I have is when you don't share the entire truth of our ancestors with children and ban books, that will make them dumber and less informed. Some of our ancestors and even founders of this country were bad people who did bad things and we should know about it. I think quite a few topics are overblown, I have 3 family members who are teachers from 3rd grade to special ed and one HS admin who bristle at some of the extreme comments from the far right.....but that's to be expected, you can't be extreme if you don't make extreme comments and create hyperbole to fit your narrative.
Well, when they get taught stuff like...men can get pregnant, there are 72 genders, Cleopatra was black, everyone must use pronouns, etc. etc....that's not really what education should be about.

All of that is not happening in any schools I know of, nor any of the ones my family works in. Now, are there outliers here and there, as with anything I am sure there are, but where I have an issue is you will take an outlier and paint the whole system as doing this, just like CRT which was not being taught except in college. I just asked my sister if she ever heard of anyone saying a man can get pregnant and she just laughed at me and asked if I was serious.
I was thinking about this and DeSantis is a one-trick pony at this point, and the trick is played out and tired. Most people are just bored with the whole 'Woke' thing now. He reminds me of a buddy I had when I was younger who latched on to talking like a southern preacher because we laughed at it. A year later, he was still doing it and our friend group was tired of hearing it, but he just didn't get the hint. He ended up just sort of fading away. It's also like that old Simpsons episode where Bart gets famous for saying 'I didn't do it', appears on TV shows, gets a record deal, then one day, people stop laughing at it. I guess he will always appeal to a small group, probably the same people who still say 'Not!' and 'Psych!' and think they're clever.
Christie arguably had more gravitas during their similar stages. He was more hard nosed and could pass the strength test in public. The bridge scandal hurt but i think the Obama hug did him worse because his constituents couldn’t handle the image and they shrugged off NJ as a northern lib state, which doomed him with the RINO status. The other guy i liken him to is Ted Cruz’s 2016 campaign. Despite being reviled by his colleagues, Cruz gained heavy followers from federalist and tea party folks who considered his sabotage schemes in congress as legit street cred. Iirc, Bannon was involved with Ted’s campaign first. The thing with lyin Ted is that even though he’s a weasel , he mostly owns it by rolling over the criticism unlike Ron who doths protest too much. i used to think Ron also had an intellectual core but i haven’t seen it and he’s mostly using political stunts to cynically draw attention to the mouth breathers who start foaming at the words woke and broke Disney... With Trump in the lead, Ron becomes the Never Trump vote that Ted Cruz later took the mantle against when Bush and Rubio couldn't fight properly back inside the GOP octagon. I don't think Ron has shown any bonafides fighting in that cage match maga members pay attention to. His stunts are more pre-WWF catch wrestling. They're highly scripted and controlled with intentional scraps to make him look better against the media or big elite states. It has spectators but is mostly considered staged and shallow for the Big Leagues. He'd be a damn fool if he thinks he can pull a 180 and move to the center with his legit big brain ideas. He already made his campaign about spiting lib states across the nation so moving his "true center" would undo his current campaign strategy. Instead he should double down his maga/tea party ideas and build momentum for it to make his competitors react. These petty fights with Disney and bussing asylum seekers distracts from that. Makes people think he has no ideas and is not the front runner with a position of strength or confidence.
Each time he swings back at Newsom, Diet Trump finds himself in a fight with the wrong guy. DeSantis is campaigning for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024, it'd serve him better to spar with candidates in his path to the nomination, Trump. But, Diet Trump is too afraid of attacking the real Trump, and Newsom knows this and has gotten under Diet Trump's skin.
