You tell him to wait until they play out before pounding his chest. But you’re already pounding your chest about the upcoming season being a 15-20 win season, without letting them play it out…, and you don’t even know what the final roster will look like yet lol. Hypocrite much?
Just the coach change will bump the Ws to 25. Better coaching. Better rotations. No nonsense. No Nix.
> With the coaching staff the Rockets are putting together, I believe Amen Thompson will be an excellent Houston Rocket. I fact I am excited about the possible roster additions Rafael Stone could make through free agency. With the exception of trading a few of the players in the third group, here is an example of what the 2023-24 Pre-Season roster could look like... Houston Rockets 2023-24 Pre-Season Roster C 28 Şengün, Alperen 6ft 11in 243lb 7/25/2002 Turkey F 10 Smith, Jabari Jr. 6ft 11in 220lb 5/13/2003 Auburn F 17 Eason, Tari 6ft 8in 215lb 5/10/2001 LSU G 4 Green, Jalen 6ft 4in 186lb 2/9/2002 Prolific Prep (CA) G 3 Porter, Kevin Jr. 6ft 4in 203lb 5/4/2000 USC C 11 Lopez, Brook 7ft 1in 282lb 4/1/1988 Stanford F 33 Kuzma, Kyle 6ft 9in 221lb 7/25/1995 Utah F – Whitmore, Cam 6ft 7in 230lb 7/8/2004 Villanova G – Thompson, Amen 6ft 7in 215lb 1/30/2003 Pine Crest (FL) G 9 Christopher, Josh 6ft 4in 215lb 12/8/2001 Arizona State C 16 Garuba, Usman 6ft 8in 229lb 3/9/2002 Spain F 6 Martin, Kenyon Jr. 6ft 7in 215lb 1/6/2001 IMG Academy (FL) F 8 Tate, Jae'Sean 6ft 5in 230lb 10/28/1995 Ohio State G 0 Washington, TyTy 6ft 3in 197lb 11/15/2001 Kentucky G 15 Nix, Daishen 6ft 4in 226lb 2/13/2002 Trinity International (NV)

Hypocrite much? Kyle Kuzma?? No thanks
What is it you don't like about Kuzma? He's an unrestricted free agent. The Rockets need help at the Power Forward spot. He's about 28 years old, so he can fit in with our youngsters. His championship ring with the Lakers in 2020 could give him some credibility. Averaged 21.2 points and 7.2 rebounds for the Wizards last season. Is a desent defender and passer. Plus we have the cap space to keep him away from the Spurs who may be trying to pair him with Wembanyama. Get him signed and use our tradeable assets to get a shooter like Seth Curry on the team. Who would you rather have?
Dude is undersized and a bad defender. Also has horrible diva attitude. First Lakers now Wizards don't want him that should tell you something.
Kuz was also at $13m. So whatever headache and weakness he had, could have been tolerated. But he's looking for a big contract. We're also very log jammed at the wing spot. Even if discounting Tate/KJ. There's Tari and maybe KPJ at SF, if a vet guard takes the the PG spot. Plus last year, I didn like Jabari at small ball 5, he was too skinny for it. For the grief Sengun got for his defense, Bari had a worse defensive eFG. Even at 4 he may be outmatched. If Naz or Brook comes, they'll be a 5, I'm even ok with shifting Sengun to a 4 and Bari to a 3. For Bari, the benefit of not adding too much bulk is that he's still quick. But that means another guy at the 3 spot. Sengun's weak side block / defense was surprisingly good. Imagine a tall defensive front court of a 3- Bari 4-Sengun 5-Naz or Lopez
It's hilarious to me that you would even dare type this sentence after how much you berrated the Thompson twins leading up to the draft and how sure you were they would be failures. Apparently it's fine to take a "wait and see" approach when you want to make sure they fail, but it's not OK to take that approach in the event they could succeed. What a hypocrite.

Who would you rather have? First - What we agree on... Diva. The man thinks more highly of himself than he should. But, you have to take the good with the bad. And confidence is important, right? Next - Kuzma would be part of the second group. He provides some rest for Tari Eason and Jabari Smith. They will both need to get some rest because I believe this will be a running team. I think Kuzma is an adequate (not great) defender with some scoring. The team should be able to acquire him at a competitive, but reasonable cost. Used correctly, he is just what this team needs to start the pre-season. An the start of pre-season is what my suggestion was based on. Now if Rafael Stone can bring in someone that would start ahead of Jabari or Tari and turn them reserves, then the whole scenario is changed. But, I don't think that will happen by the start of pre-season. Besides, we need to find out what the youngsters can do.
I was thinking Kuzma too but out of Kuzma, Cameron Johnson and C Wood, I would rather have Wood. I know most think it's crazy but after seeing Denver win in the finals. A frontline of Sengun, Smith and Wood is compatible size wise to Jokic, Gordon and Porter

Harden, Kyrie, Brooks, Draymond, Kuzma, Simmons, Zion. I don't think any of these players fit the current roster for reasons outside of basketball. KPj and KJ are two names that are currently on the roster that might not be in a few months for reasons outside of basketball. Once you take over a team/company, you set a tone by chopping off heads that have proved to be problematic in the past. And for those that think "But Tillman himself said he likes KPj", the Warriors GM literally said Poole would be there for 4 years days before trading him. I don't want any of the above mentioned 7 anywhere near our locker room.
Yeah - it doesn't mean that will help his jumper - but he is considered very bright and mature for his age, with a passion for basketball. Limiting off the court issues and effort issues is a good first step to improvement.
I probably do not see him as a full time PG....splitting time at the wing and at PG. And see what KPJ does.
How is a D. Rose as a comparison? He also came in the league as a non shooter (shot 22% from 3, 28% his next season) and was an ultra athletic and quick point guard with a good eye for their teammates. Rose seemed to be more dynamic than Amen, Amen is a lot taller - and of course, the game has changed a lot since Rose's rookie season. We will have to wait and see if Amen can get to the rim with ease, just as Rose, or if the competition gives him trouble...
