Noone said Jabari was the most NBA ready player in the draft. Paolo was pretty unanimously the most NBA ready player because of his size strength ball handling, shot creation, etc. Chet was also considered more nba ready. Jabari was thought could have the highest ceiling because of his shooting and defense and progress with creating his shot. Most people knew his game needed development, and he needed to add strength, but thought his shot would be better.
The problem with this post is the media doesn't draft these guys. Obviously a lot of people that get paid to scout players disagree with your take here, not the media, but the actual professional basketball scouts.
Just go to Twitter and enter this one "Jabari most nba ready" into the search bar and press enter and scroll down to the draft night and b4 OR you can try reddit And many more. There were quite a lot of ppl thought that he was the most NBA ready player. There was nothing unanimous about it.
That's what the consensus was here and with the nerds. There were only a few posters here that knew Banchero was the one. I comp him lebron without the first elite step. Don't worry you'll see it again next year. Majority is going to want the player that has the highest 3 point percentage. They're like the CEO's of oceangate, overly stupid confident
I think @OremLK is going to end up looking very smart pounding the table for Amen. Actually the more I watch of him the more I wish we’d have been able to get both of the twins. Im still concerned about the shooting but the guy has so many other wow factors to his game his first step and the speed he’s able to dribble with while still being in control with pretty good handles is pretty insane.
Wait for the Thompsons to play out before pounding your chest. It is basically undisputed fact that Houston is also seen as one of the most dynsfunctional team with the least sharp management and among the cheapest owner with prospects dodging workouts last year, being relived that Rockets drops to #4 this year with Wemby. The only team that comes close in dumbest are the Pistons which really explains why they fail along with Rockets have failed to pick the correct players 3-4 years in a row while being perpetually stuck in the lotto. This is another 15-20 win season ahead.
I'm not pounding my chest at all, you're the one sure he's going to fail, you're pounding your chest here, not me. The point of my post is that your point is 100% incorrect and that you are undisputedly wrong on this. The media doesn't draft these players, they simply report what they think the order will be. Amen went 4th because that's how professional basketball scouts rated him and these scouts are better at scouting basketball than you are. Amen was top 5 before the lottery because that's how scouts felt about his skill set and his potential. Your post is about how there is some media conspiracy or something thats ranking these players, that's literally not how it works. If it worked like that Cam would have went top 7 but he didn't. Why? Because the actual professional scouts and the organizations they work for didn't think he was rated that high.
The guy some of you wanted thinks Paul George is the GOAT and thinks the Hornets will win a championship this year meanwhile the guy we got LIVES basketball
I think people are going to be mostly surprised by Amen's mind. They know about his herky jerky movements and unreal athleticism. But, he seems to care about the details. He isn't just running pick and rolls off of instinct, but is intentional and methodical. He understands sets, plays and situational basketball. He sees the whole court and not just the screener. Even when he doesn't have the ball, I think he will take advantage of Sengun in the high post. That being said, he gambles a lot on defense and I hope that doesn't take away from his defensive potential. He can really guard 1-3. Really excited to see him have a team of shooting coaches around him. I do not see him as just a Ben Simmons prospect who relies just off his natural abilities.
Undisputed fact, eh? This take reads like basketballholic. Zero nuance. 1. Any management team that has Eli Wittus employed is going to be near the top of the league in terms of management, scouting, creativity, you name it. 2. I'd like to see your "in hindsight" draft. Who do you take over Jalen Green at 2? (Marcus Camby?) Who do you take over Jabari at 3? Who do you take over Amen at 4? Let's get this on the record. Who do you take over Sengun, Tari, and Whitmore? Is anyone else making blistering trades like the unprotected trash picks we gave up for Alperen Sengun? Three seasons of tanking after being one of the most successful franchises of the 25 years prior, and we just hired one of the best coaches in basketball. The Rockets are fine. Tanking is supposed to be dysfunctional. People said the same thing about Sam Hinkie in Phila.
I'm just worried about his shooting technique. It's just awful. It can be awful if it works, but it clearly doesnt.
