With the 4th pick in the nba draft, the rockets select Cam Newton, i mean Cam Whitmore with the 20th pick. If Rockets can't make the playoffs, I better hope to see a dunkfest season. Great drop to 20, well done! Made the best of the non Weyambo lottery.
Anonymous Eastern Conference Exec: “At the Hoops Summit, Whitmore was not a practice-type player and didn’t look very good during the week. But once he played, he was one of the better players in the game. That’s going to have to change at the NBA level. He’s going to have to exert some effort, some ability and skill level in practice for a head coach to put him in a game. He’s not going to be guaranteed minutes like he probably was at Villanova.” https://ftw.usatoday.com/2023/06/cam-whitmore-nba-draft-why-is-he-falling
So okay, I wasn't "excited" about Amen, but I don't dislike him and definitely ready to give him a chance. THIS potential and getting Whitmore without a trade makes me excited about all of it.
I know you're joking but watching his interview it's clear the guy was distraught. Whatever issues teams had with him, he clearly still thought he was a lottery pick.
Udoka needs to give him some tough love. Also, the kid is only 18. There's a lot of time for maturity there.
Youngest player in the draft going through that kind of slap in the face of reality should wake him up.
The guy doesn't have much personality. I don't care about that, he's a baller, that's all that matters.
Your personality can change when you get hit with shot that makes you reevaluate things. If Cam is going to be a player then something like this should be a life changing event.
