If you think they have a chance to win a championship you trade prospects. I would move Lee, Leon, Corona , Barber etc.. for a bat and a reliever. Don't trade Arrighetti,Gilbert, Baez,Perez,Gomez etc...

Luis Baez was out of the lineup today for the FCL squad for the first time this year, despite the squad having had the last two days off. I haven't seen anything to suggest he's on the way to Fayetteville, but I have refreshed the minor league transaction log about 200 times.
Corpus scored a touchdown in the 1st inning... Zach Dezenzo ripped a two-run double and then Colin Barber followed with a three-run blast (7). Chad Stevens then hit an RBI triple and scored on Drew Gilbert's sac fly. The Hooks added a field goal in the 2nd with an RBI single from Scott Schreiber and a two-run double by Stevens. Stevens will probably finish tonight with an OPS somewhere between .740 and .750 after tonight, which is respectable, but what isn't nice is the almost 40% strikeout rate he'll be carrying after 225 plate appearances and how his BABIP is .380 with an average in the upper .220s. I guess they like his glove just enough?
Michael Knorr only lasted one inning for Asheville tonight; he allowed two hits, one of which was a three-run homer, and struck out one. Down in Fayetteville, Ricardo Balogh has a three-run home run (4) and an RBI single. It looks like he's starting to show some power, but with most of his appearances coming as a corner infielder, he'll have to continue developing that power if he wants a chance to advance.
Shortstops who walk and hit for power are worth giving every opportunity to develop even if they strike out a lot. It also helps that Houston doesn’t have anyone else to play SS in AA since Whitcomb got promoted and no one in High A is ready to move up yet. I doubt Stevens will make it out of AA but you never know, maybe he gets that k rate down just enough to be a Jack Mayfield type.
Melton went 2-4 with a double (7) and homer (10). His average is up to 242 and his OPS is at 795. I really like Melton and hope he is promoted to Corpus soon. The K rate is a little too high but he has a great combination of speed and power.
He is on a 150 game pace for 30 HR and 80 stolen bases. Pretty impressive for a guy who can handle CF.
In the toolsy OFs hitting HRs today category, this guy had a notoriously power-sapping surgery earlier this season.
AAA hitters with ops >900 this month: Whitcomb, Hamilton, Dirden, Perez, Bannon, Berryhill Matijevic and Leon have an ops over 830 in June. Madris, Lee, and Hensley are the only guys who aren’t hitting great this month, and Lee hit 2 HR last night. Hopefully this is a collective sign of guys getting on track rather than just a stretch of facing crummy pitchers.
AA hitters with ops >850 this month: Loperfido, Aviles, Stevens, Barber, Corona, Daniels, Dezenzo Drew Gilbert has a 442 ops this month. Not sure why they are letting him play hurt. Ryan Clifford and Michael Sandle are the only high A hitters with an ops over 750 in June (min. 10 pa). Balogh, Cruz, L Encarnacion, McGowan, and Cole have June ops over 800 for Fayetteville.
The only thing I can think of is that the doctor determined it's an injury that does not risk aggravation and will still heal while continuing to hit. Then, they decided they don't care about the results during the injury but want him to get as many PAs as possible so he is still ready for a late season promotion if that works out. Or simply not stunt his development.
Gilbert played the field yesterday for the first time in like a month, so they apparently think he's healthy. I saw where Dana Brown blamed his poor performance on having to DH everyday.
Rabel Colon hit his first home run in the US today. Like any other kid coming to America from the DSL, he's definitely going through an adjustment period; he was 4-34 without an extra-base hit in 10 games before today. Colon, a 19-year-old outfielder from the Dominican Republic, showed nice speed in his pro debut last season as he went 20-24 on stolen base attempts and hit 8 triples. He slashed .280/.378/.429 with a homer and 18 RBI in 53 games for the DSL Orange team.
