That's my guess too because of pressure from Tilman. Udoka and Stone may prevail on him and Patrick not to do this though. Udoka's hiring gives me confidence since it's clear that he's also involved in drafting as well as in free agent decisions.

By who's standards? This is totally subjective. If you're talking about a trade where most NBA fans agree it was a failure, that's so extremely rare.

So you're literally assuming the rarest and worst possible thing is going to happen. Life is fun and full of possibilities dude. Your brain is weaker and less regenerative when you constantly prepare for the worst.

No, but I don't think we'll look back on that day in 5-10 years and think they nailed it either. I like Amen and think he's the guy they should take at 4, and that's probably the route they take.

But even if he mostly pans out, the odds say someone else in that 4-10 range is likely to outperform him in the long run. No clue who that is and if I did, I'd be making a lot of money for an NBA front office right now.

Aside from that, it's hard for me to gauge what they do in terms of trades. But any deal where they keep the young core in tact and consolidate players to move up in the draft or add veterans on good deals is a win.

Not that easy to say this year.

Hey, I am just here to watch Ime Udoka on the sidelines.

Sounds like your mind is made up. I have no insights to what they are going to do so I have no idea

I got a feeling they won't. I think they will try to out do the Texans. Then again, anybody other than Scoot and we're done bros. Time to tank!

Tilman, for all of his many many many faults...seems to be sticking to the Astros approach of draft young talent and have them outperform their contracts. Then keep the ones that matter (culture guys, Altuve, Bregs, etc) and let the divas walk (Correa). Then subsequently replace them with high upside talent on cheaper contracts and have a title window of 5-8 years or more. Astros are still amidst their own. 4 World Series, 2 chips.

We are drafting the highest upside talent available at 4 or potentially getting 10 from the Mavs and trading for Scoot. I don't see them trading for a middling wanna be star like Bridges or any of Toronto's players.
