I saw Rudy T today around lunch time at Whole Foods Market, glad to see he was wearing Michigan shirt and not a Lakers shirt. I hope he can do well with the mess that is the Lakers....just not well enough to be better than the Rockets ;)

Oh and I am kicking myself pretty hard cause he sat right where I was thinking of before I saw window table open....stupid allure of a table by a window!

rudy will do a great job there. thay have a lot of good young players now, and some vets too. give them a year to even out the roster and they will be fine. not that i want them to be, but just for rudys sake.

    divac-cook
    grant-walton
    odom-george
    kobe-butler-rush
    payton-??

they are very thin at PG and C, and jammed up at 2/3. one or two more moves and they are right back in the thick of things....that trade did them well.

It's a pretty balanced conference and they still have the stud -- unless the stud is suddenly put out to pasture in the hills.

If they add Eddie Griffin and some PG to their bench, I think they can clinch a playoff spot.

The new players compliment Kobe very well, Divac and Odom are both passers. Grant doesn't shoot much. Payton will improve a bit this season udner a new system, new coach and new team.

    They will be interesting.

While he is taking Eddie, why not send him Nachbar and MoT since he liked them so much to bring them to the Rox. Take anything in return. Are they under the cap now that Shaq is gone. Let's get another TE.

I loved RT. He is a likable and classy. He has no business making personnel decisions. You all knw the lsit that goes back to Maloney and maybe even back to the string of never was SF's that were brought in during the 80's. Make no mistake that he left his mark on this franchise and for at least two more years. Once MoT is gone, the RT personnel blunders will be gone and I can start liking Rudy again.

If I sat down in a restaurant next to RT. I would definitely ask him what he was thinking trying to outbid Seattle for MoT, Dallas for Norris and what the Maloney thing was all about. That would be just for starters. For a guy who had a rep for being a great judge of talent he sure had a lousy track record with personnel.

So after two championships, the first thing you'd ask about is a couple of trivial signings that had no bearing on anything. Nice. You're so grateful.

I used to see Rudy T at the Target on San Felipe and 610 when I lived in that area. The last time I saw him he was buying coat hangers and tampons.

Was funny at the time. Guess you had to be there.

I'll be waiting for that. I was never sold on EG. He has no heart and is a head case. However, he likes Rudy.

    Wait - Everybody likes Rudy

I wish you'd registered earlier so we could see how you felt about those signings when they went down. Moochie is the exception to the rule that most of these disappointing contracts looked good to the majority of fans (BBS and otherwise) when they went down. I still remember how thrilled 610 callers were when we locked up Cato after his big preseason game. Maloney had a very solid rookie year and we needed a point. There were a lot of believers in his game back then -- it wasn't just Rudy. Well over half of Rockets fans were psyched when we got Mo. And virtually everybody liked the Griffin deal too. Even Brent Price was a popular move when it went down. Coaches and GM's don't always get it right and Rudy and CD had a rough streak for a while (after some incredible CBA finds that clenched our rings), but to act like they're disposed to bad moves is nothing but 20/20 hindsight.

    p.s. Go Rudy.

It's a grocery store specializing in healthy, organic and vegetarian foods. Rudy's a health food nut. As of a few months ago he was vegan (no animal products).

He's been veggie for awhile. He went vegan (or at least mostly vegan) following the cancer.
