Just a side thought, haven't confirmed details yet... To Rockets Derrick White Jaylen Brown To Hornets Jalen Green Kenyon Martin To Celtics Lamelo Ball Jae'Sean Tate #4 pick Boston gets a potential all star in Ball replacing White. They save cap space in the process even after Ball extension. They get #4 to add a best player available potentially giving them 3 stars. Charlotte flips Ball for Green and picks up Martin as hedge against their free agents being offered too much. Their backcourt of Scoot and Green is the angle they go with... Rockets get 2 veterans with experience with udoka. Brown is young and a potential #1 option who plays both ways. White starts at point with KPJ as 6th man scorer. We go from one of the worst defensive backcourts to one of the best. Basically it's still Green, Tate, Martin, and the #4 pick for Brown. In a world where Gobert fetches in trade what he did, this could be a bargain for Jaylen Brown...
Because Ball is hurt a lot and due for an extension soon and would not like playing behind Scoot. Ball is better now, but we don't know after injuries in a couple years. If Jalen has as much potential as his only fans subscribers here indicate; its a more natural fit.
Assuming Scoot falls to 3 and neither Portland or Boston need him at PG: To Portland Jaylen Brown Kenyon Martin Jr To Rockets Derrick White Nassir Little #3 pick To Celtics Anfernee Simons Jae'Sean Tate #4 pick Future unprotected Portland pick Rockets absorb salary and give up cheap role players to move from 4 to 3... Sign Grant Williams and Brook Lopez with cap space left. Draft best player available at 20. 3 vets and Scoot added. Losing Tate and Martin Scoot / White Green / Porter G Williams / Eason J Smith / Garuba Sengun / Lopez
Rockets out: - #4 - KPJ - #20 Hawks out: - Dejounte Murray - #15 (Lively II) Lineup PG - Murray / Washington SG - Green / Christopher SF - Eason / Martin PF - Smith Jr. / Garuba ..C - Sengun / Lively II
I know it’s probably been said a ton of times but what about: Houston: In - #3 Out - #4, K. Martin, the Nets picks Brooklyn: In - #4, the Nets picks that the Rockets own Out - M. Bridges Portland: In - M. Bridges, K. Martin Out - #3 The Rockets do this if Scoot falls and they love him more than Amen or Cam. The Nets can get out of no man’s land and start a rebuild with #4 while controlling their future. The Blazers get a sidekick to Dame who is a close friend (Bridges) and they get another wing for depth in Martin.
I think after this you could sign B. Lopez, D. Brooks, and P. Bev (I know they aren’t exciting signings but they are low risk and heavily rumored), then draft Howard or Whitehead at 20 and have the following lineup: PG: Henderson, Beverley, Washington SG: Green, Porter, Christopher SF: Brooks, Tate, Howard/Whitehead PF: Smith, Eason C: Sengun, Lopez, Garuba
Adding a star point guard on a rookie contract would sure help their cap situation ..... and they could move one of their higher priced point guards.
Some of the picks we got for Harden are already gone and the picks are way more valuable to the Nets than us considering they could just try and be a playin team every year and what are we going to do with mid round guys at this point.
Why would the Rockets ever do this? Jaylen Brown has no left to speak of. He's a liability. I'd rather have the young kid that can still develop physically with a deep bag and time to get his shooting splits up vs a finished product that has a glaring weaknesses. If the idea is to sign Harden and try and win one with him one last time, we all know Harden's stamina and overall play struggles in the playoffs against more physical defense -he needs somene that can create on their own. I can already see the meltdowns in here when Harden is having an awful game and Brown keeps losing the ball because teams keep forcing him left. That's a 1st round loss. Just desperate to be relevant for a small window at early playoff losses.
This trade is much better than the previous one, and, may actually be workable. Portland wants a win now player and get Jaylen Brown. Rockets move up and hopefully get Scoot (still have my doubts) and I like Derrick White a lot. Simons is a good consolation prize for Jaylen and is already signed. Tate is a good role player and they get some really good picks to put around Tatum.
Nash is too much for me but I see the vision. Both super cerebral, deft at creating separation using skill rather than athleticism, versatile A-shooter and very very scalable games.
Day off build. #20+Jalen Green+Brooklyn 2024 and 2026 FRP for #2 #2-Scoot #4-Whitmore Trade KMJ+Tate+Brooklyn swaps to Dallas for #10. #10-Jarace Walker (I think he falls out of top 10). FA- Dillon Brooks 2 years 30 million Josh Hart 3 years 66 million Brook Lopez 1 year 28 mil team option in 2nd. Pat Bev 2 year 8 million per Sengun/Lopez/Garuba Smith/Walker Eason/Brooks Hart/Whitmore Henderson/Porter/Bev
Didn't realize Free Agency came around so soon nowadays. We will have all of our answers before the 4th of July. Then Summer league, then Texans training camp
