I've never been a fan of Afleck as an actor but I thought he was a solid Bats and I recall that being the consensus when BvS came out as one of the bright spots.....
Just finished the movie: Spoiler: Thoughts -WTF was the opening sequence saving those babies from the ER? That was the weirdest crap ever; CGI babies -Gal Gadot comes in, swings her lasso, theme music plays, some crap dialogue and then disappears. Rinse and repeat -If you thought one Ezra Miller was bad, two was worse. Dude can act but his method acting went so far in this movie so to speak -CGI looked awful, like PS3 graphics. Did they just have to scramble after they were told Ezra is coming back to the movie? -Supergirl was a nice surprise but nothing tops Superman -Speaking of which, was that Nic Cage as Superman? -Ending was super rushed; apparently they had a diffferent ending before the one with his dad. Ezra was caked in makeup https://www.criticalhit.net/enterta...girl-in-costume-and-its-not-what-we-expected/ -It just seemed obvious he had to back and let his mom die so his world stays the same -Keaton Batman was pretty great; dude has not lost his touch
I liked him. From what I read, he agreed to play Batman because was told he would eventually get to direct a Batman film. But obviously that never happened. An Affleck directed Batman movie could have been great. Oh well. At least we got The Batman.
this thing is bombing at the box office Warner Bros.′ latest superhero film hauled in just $55 million during its first three-day weekend, a far cry from the $75 million to $85 million industry experts had expected. It also fell short of the $67 million debut of fellow DC film “Black Adam” last October. ″‘The Flash’ is a victim of numerous factors that stalled buzz for the once highly anticipated film,” said Shawn Robbins, chief analyst at BoxOffice.com. Robbins pointed to the ongoing controversy surrounding star Ezra Miller, a lack of consistency in the DC film franchise and a too-narrowly focused marketing campaign that only targeted die-hard fans for the lower-than-expected box office opening. “Audiences have shown in recent months and post-‘Endgame’ years that they are being more selective about which comic book films are going to earn their box office dollars,” he said.
AFAIC, the only thing DC puts out worth watching is their standalone stuff not connected to any universe like that Joker movie…everything else might as well be straight to video collecting dust in the Walmart $5 bin
300m loss less than Black Widow …IIRC, that didn’t even get released in theaters oh my this the type of outcome that gets entire departments fired
The other problem with it is that it came out the same time as the spider verse movie. They both have very similar plot lines and the similar multi verse aspect but the spider verse did it so much better and it’s just a great comic book movie overall and not mired with legal issues with the actor or several directors and writers leaving the movie due to creative differences
the sad thing is DC was out her caping for Ezra's garbage ass. Gunn talking about this was the best Super hero film he has ever seen. What is the reason? why even over hype it?
As a Flash fan, the way I'm looking at is that they didn't kill the franchise completely. And that's all that matters to me. I'll wait to rent it on prime. As for the future, they may just have to come in with a smaller buget and focus more like the original superman did on the character than all the special effects.
DC fan here (more so on the comics/games/animations), from a character perspective, I'm happy that Flash got his shot on the big screen. That said, I'm skipping the theatrical viewing, might catch it when it later get to the secondary market.
It is better than the eternals. Eternals was not good. I think they should have release before spiderman since plots are pretty similar. I enjoyed all the cameos and and reference to the old movies and comics.
