The hornets are absolutely drafting Henderson - i don't see how the new ownership doesn't want to do that.
Henderson goes 2 Amen goes 3 Whitmore (hopefully) goes 4 Sengun Smith Whitmore/Eason Green/KPJ FA PG/KPJ a good 7 man start. Cam is the way.
Francis3422 thank you for your support of Cam at 4 as I’ve been telling everyone who would listen that that is the right move. BUT let me be crystal clear…..if we are somehow miraculously blessed to have Miller available at 4, then you grab him faster than a silver bullet. Amen will be a legend in the G League; Cam will be a solid NBA starter in the mindset of a Mikael Bridges; B Miller will be a star in the mold of a Reggie Miller. No brainer here. If you did 1000 drafts, Miller would go top 3 in 999 of them. Nearly zero chance he drops below 3.
Really liked this idea from Nate Duncan. Sign Porzingis Sign Cam Johnson Draft Amen with #4 Porzingis is only 27. Play 5 out with Amen, KPJ and JG facilitating.
Porzing is only 27 but his knees and ankles are age 50. Also you know what 5 out means right? How can Amen play 5 out? Lol
Yes. I guess he'd be doing most of the facilitating until his shot improves. From what I've seen, he seems to be pretty accurate around the rim.
Agreed, very high chance Scoot goes #2 and Miller goes #3. Everyone tries to outsmart themselves and everyone else this time of year, then the top picks usually end up resembling what people thought they would be all along.
If Washington decides to tank, Kristaps should be very available for the right contract, since nobody else has that much cap space to spend. I see some fit issues with this plan though. Porzingis is a center at this point in his career, and Cam Johnson is better as a stretch 4 than a 3. So there's a lot of overlap with Jabari and Sengun.
Lots of pushback in Portland with drafting Miller given his potential involvement with the murder. Also Shaden Sharpe is now 6’8”. They are not desperate for a wing. Naz Little and Sharpe can hold down the 3. I think they’ll take Scoot or Amen. If they trade back it will be for a guy like Walker. They need defense and may not have the money to resign Grant.
I kind of doubt they're very attached to Little at this point. His minutes actually went down amid a wasted season. Sharpe, for sure. Sounds like they view him as borderline untouchable so they must be extremely high on his potential. I wouldn't be surprised to see them take Amen, if Charlotte takes Scoot, because he does fit their usual profile (tools, upside, intangibles), but I don't think Miller is necessarily a worse fit for them on paper, especially if they're keeping Dame. Still think it's going to be Amen or Miller for us, whichever one falls to us... maybe 60/40 odds Amen/Miller.
Yeah but he is selling the team he will want the most attractive asset so it looks better for buyers. Why will he get Miller he has no pressure to win anymore.
5 out means every body stays around the perimeter so nobody can defend the paint. If Amen is there opponents will camp in the lane cuz they know he can't shoot.
