i predict we start off losing alot of games....because i dont think were going to have much chemistry. same happend to the twolves last year and now there number one in the west.
Hard to vote not knowing who our team is. That said, I'll predict a pretty solid loss. Hard to see our boys getting the ball in the basket against them. Score : Houston 72 Detroit 78 Welcome to the new high-octane scoring attack!
One game doesn't really matter. It will still only be one win or one loss. I would prefer a win though. We got out to a great start last year and looked like a team that could contend. But then we started playing bad again and barely made the playoffs. Two straight years we have finished poorly, partially because of RudyT's bladder cancer and Yao's fatigue by the end of the season. My opinion of how good this team is depends on at least having 40 games played together and maybe even a few more.
As long as we play hard, there will be no shame if we lose to the defending NBA champions on opening day, on their home court.
I predict that if we lose the first game, there will be about 10 reactionary threads started within seconds of the final buzzer stating that we need to fire Van Gundy, fire CD, trade T-Mac, rip the team apart and start planning for the lottery.
this team will need some time to gel. please don't expect this team to come out and roll off 15 straight wins. i don't see that happening. having said that...the pieces are there to begin building a legitimate contender.
I think we'll lose, because it's in Detroit. That doesn't bother me. What bothers me is the 4 games in the 1st 5 days of the season, with the 1st 3 on the road. I think the schedule maker should be strung up!
"we win. beating the champs at home after their ring ceremony proves that we are one of the elite." Dream After DRob gets the MVP (Game 2 1995 WCF) Syndrome Or DADRGTMG295WCFS for short.
Like mentioned, it is hard to predict a win or loss at this point, although I always go into a season really hoping for a win to open the season. Something about watching the team start basketball gets me pumped up, and knowing that by winning, we'd be the best team in the NBA. If we lose, I would be disapointed, but wouldn't think that much more of the loss as any other loss. I think since the team has undergone a major change, I won't be as disapointed if they had lost with the team we had since I'd be wondering if the team could improve, if they actually got along, etc. (same ole problems we always used to discuss) I just hope they play with the same intensity and effort that Detroit should. I remember watching them during the Finals and actually feeling for them something similiar to what I feel with the Rockets. It is kind of ironic for me to have these two open the season against each other. Ok...actually all I said was balooney. TMac will score 73 points and Yao Ming will put Ben Wallace on the IR when Wallace attempts to block a dunk by Yao, but Yao just powers his way through his arm, causing it to break on the rim. Rockets win by 50 and soon to be crowned champs of the NBA.
