07/25-THE DREAM STILL IN PLAY- The Houston Rockets have tendered a 2 year offer worth roughly $9.1 million to their free agent center Hakeem Olajuwon, the problem is many teams have entered the fray, with the Raptors offering a 3 year guaranteed deal with a 4th option year worth roughly $24 million. The Pacers tendered a 2 year deal, as have the Cavs, who may mirror Toronto's deal is Hakeem wants to get serious with talks. The Knicks met with Hakeem this week, and have offered him a multi-year deal, but can not get close to the dollars other teams are offering. The Heat are in the mix also, but are not offer years or dollars, unless Hakeem gets serious with his talks with them. Sources close to the Rockets are saying retaining Hakeem remains a top priority for the team, and they won't be making any other moves until they nail him down. The Cavs, through head coach John Lucas made a public plea for an audience with Hakeem, and have become aggressive in their pursuit of a chance to speak with The Dream, who they view as the perfect instructor for their young front court.

ughhh. The fact that bskball.com isn't reporting the falsness of the Toronto 4 year 20 mil deal shows how much credibility they have. That was a rumor that has been dispelled.
