Man, the Silas stink rubbed off on the Celtics tonight. They should have known better than to bring his loser juju around in the playoffs.
Will take that trade every day and 1000x times on Sunday Celtics Hope To Hire Stephen Silas As Assistant Coach The Boston Celtics will attempt to hire Stephen Silas as an assistant coach this offseason. Silas was recently fired by the Houston Rockets after three seasons in the job. Silas would give Joe Mazzulla an experienced assistant coach with head coaching experience. The Celtics lost Damon Stoudamire toward the end of the regular season when he took the head coaching job at Georgia Tech.
That's actually a good fit for him being one of the most veteran assistant coaches while Mazulla is one of the youngest HC's.
Good for him - I dont think he is ready/cut out for a head coaching job(how he made it this long in Houston is crazy) but I totally can see him being a capable assistant. He needs more tools in his bag before going back to head coaching again though.
I think he's proven to be a good assistant. Happy for him. I don't think he will ever be a head coach anywhere ever again though, unless it's with an already good and very veteran filled team.
Monty Williams going from Phoenix to Detroit, which may have the worst roster construction in the NBA. That will be quite a change. For Silas, that will just be another year.
That is funny because all season the Rockets were viewed as a decent offensive rebounding team. The one aspect that was good actually.
