I guess it's just me, or maybe I "pass it by", but I don't see the GARM as being so extremely negative. I just don't. There are negative discussions, or discussions that become extremely negative, but the majority are just discussions, with a variety of opinions. Sure, there is a lot of negative "piling on." There is also "piling on" of the positive kind. Most of the stuff here is all over the map. Perhaps the negative people just "scream" a little louder, trying to get attention.

I agree, it is a different issue. I just combined two issues in one post :).

Please. I merely said that this board's opinion of Cooper is on the extreme negative end -- I didn't expand the comment beyond that.

And since I do see all the other sources of fan feedback, it's a pretty easy statement to make. On this particular issue, it's just the truth.

Doesn't make the opinions on this board any less valid.

Chance from 610 drawing a line in the sand for Tim from Rockets management........cool.

(but somehow I don't think the suits at either organization will think the public display is a very good idea)

Whenever Mike Newlin has gotten a rare shot at TV commentary I have always thought he was one of the most inciteful analyst I've ever heard but, he can be a little severe, sort of like Johnny Miller in golf.

And face it, anybody will have almost impossible job fitting into Calvin's cookie jar. He is so familiar and charismatic. And he has his jersey up there in the rafters to certify his credibility. I just can't think of anyone who could have an instant acceptance in the position. I know as long as Calvin remains innocent the job should be labeled 'interim' and that will probably limit it to a novice.

Actually, you did, by agreeing to JuanValdez' post, and that was what I was referring to.

But thanks for clarifying that you did not mean to call the whole BBS extremely negative.

A misunderstanding on my side, I guess :).

Whoa easy killer! I drew no line! I was illustrating that Tim's position is obvious. The most important part of my message was asking what they plan to do. I was, as many other people here have, pointing out that Tim made it clear what his intentions were not. I want to know what they are.

Chance makes cool songs about the Rockets and Comets and wears skirts in public. How could we ever get upset about that?

If that happened, Marv would spend more time providing Knicks updates then calling the Rockets game.

I'm not quite as old as rhester, but I too have followed the Rockets since they came from San Diego and have only been upset at two decisions... changing the original CHAMPIONSHIP uniforms and Pippen.

I live in NM and don't care who is calling the local games as I'm too cheap to buy the satellite package. Interesting thread though, and we should all be thankful that someone from the Rockets is participating. I can't imagine this kind of thing happens in the other boards across the NBA.

Aren't you the biggest Boki supporter in this BBS?
He had a rotten first year too.
I'm sure Calvin Murphy was horrible his first year.

Come on Bro! I do songs about the Astros and Texans also ;)

BTW - I would sport my kilt to the Comets and Rockets games but my credentials say something about appropriate attire.

Can you guys make an exception?

    Pgab,

Please don't confuse message board dribble to professional commentary.

I think you are smarter than that.

Cynthia Cooper is to announcing as Andy Dick is to bodybuilding....

If Calvin gets time, give him a TV set and a Mr. Microphone, then let him give an outlaw broadcast from Cell Block 6.
