2 pitch pitcher + injury history, may as well put him on that route next time they decide to use him

While listening to last night's game I heard that the Angels have 2 players from last year's draft already on the roster.

    Very interesting.

The 21 draft doesn't look nearly as bad right now as it did last season. Colton Gordon, Arighetti and Loperfido look like real potential contributors, and there are a few other guys that look like they may have MLB futures.

Given the lack of 1st and 2nd round picks, I'm not even sure I would call it below average at the moment.

He's missed so much time, I'm not sure that they don't just want him to get the extra reps as a starter. He'll probably be limited in innings, if he stays healthy they can try him in shorter stints as he gets closer to the limit.

Whitaker looks like a longshot to make the majors. They failed to sign their 4th round pick, which is the highest pick that doesn't get a comp pick the next year. The 5th round on was pretty solid, but the 4th round pick was an unforced error.

With complex leagues starting Monday, the Astros have minor league games scheduled every day between now and late August except July 12th.

Day before my birthday on 7/13. It used to be that there were only 2 days of the year with no sports going on- day before and day after the ASG. So many birthdays with nothing to care about going on. Missed the only off game for minors by a day!

Garcia, a 20-year-old from Venezuela, has already made one appearance in the BA Prospect Handbook; he was #26 in 2021. He signed on July 2, 2019 but because of COVID, did not make his official pro debut until 2021. Garcia was solid in his pro debut, going 3-1 with a 3.00 ERA in 11 appearances (8 starts, 42 total IP) between the FCL Blue team and Fayetteville. An injury wiped out most of his 2022 season, which he spent with the FCL Orange team. Garcia went 1-3 with a 6.61 ERA in five appearances (two starts, 16.1 IP) in 2022.

Temple signed as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame last year. He made seven appearances (one start, 10.1 total IP) for both FCL teams and Fayetteville, going 1-0 with a save and a 3.48 ERA.

Jose Guedez was placed on the Fayetteville IL on Thursday.

Astros need to Release AAA Pitchers that are over 26 year olds that have over 6.00 era. Give the Younger Latin Players that are 22 or 23 yr olds a Chance to Start. That disturbs me the Most.

C.J. Stubbs (5) also homered last night for the Hooks:

Quincy Hamilton hit his 6th and Chad Stevens went deep twice (4):

It’s a shame Stubbs strikes out so much, because he’s otherwise he’s a really nice prospect. He’s hit 16 HR over his last 300 pa with 13 SB and a double digit walk rate.

Another 5 shout out for Arrighetti, outside of his first few stinkers he’s been absolutely elite.

Elvis Garcia went 3.1 innings in Fayetteville's regularly scheduled game today and allowed one hit (a solo homer) and struck out three in his 2023 debut.

Feel like playing time will be extremely sparse for him, but they had him pick up 1st base recently.

Dusty usually likes two backup infielders. Once Hensley went back to AAA we were down to just one. I hope we do get to see him play some.
