Middle field defense is real strong between Pena, Dubon, and Meyers/Chas. It's even more noticeable when watching Angels trash defense.
It shouldn’t be a thing. It seems crazy it’s a thing. The sample size is getting big enough I’m starting to believe it might be a thing.
Still chasing the Rangers though who put 16 on the board today and sport a league-leading +143 run differential. As long as that’s their level of performance, they’re going to be a problem
Imagine how frustrating this is for the Angels. I know, we don't care. The Rangers are a real problem. They are proving that management can create a winning team with enough money and do it quickly. I don't like the Rangerettes, but I am impressed with what they did in the off season.
Astros are officially NOT a Top 10 worst offense in baseball (OPS 20th) and are ranked top half in Runs Scored (tied for 14th) Primary factors in the increase are Pena batting second, Bregs heating up, and Altuve's return
All hail Montero's first clean inning in over a month. He ended his streak of 12 consecutive games surrendering a baserunner. Luck was a factor because those first two outs were scorched, but I'll take it. Seems he didn't pitch the 9th inning too because Ohtani and Trout were due up
Maldy is a very religious person from what I understand. 2 Corinthians 4: 17-18 "This too shall pass".
So the best 6 year run in terms of regular season winning percentage (full seasons only): NY Yankees 1937-1942 599-320 .652 Dodgers 2017-2023 554-316 .637 Astros 2017-2023 547-321 .630
It shouldn’t be a thing. Like/ people have said it matters since the beginning of time and then the nerds go study it and it just almost never is a thing and is almost completely explained by small sample size (clutch ness is the same way). This is starting to have pretty major sample size stuff going on though. I mean/ you can flip a coin and get heads 10X in a row but it starts to get pretty improbable. That’s the territory I think we are approaching now.
