To no one's surprise ... The Iran document Trump talked about on tape is missing CNN is reporting that this document was not among those recovered by the FBI when they searched a storage room and Trump’s office at Mar-a-Lago. In fact, Trump’s attorney’s can’t find the document anywhere.
I wonder... does that actually make the criminal case against trump stronger, since who know who, or what country has the classified document?
The damage is potentially more severe, but missing pieces of evidence probably makes the case weaker, I'd think.
to the extent that the content of the tape recording weakens his supposed defense that he had already de-classified all documents before leaving the WH, it actually strengthens the case against him for mishandling classified documents if this reporting is correct, in the tape recording, Trump talked about holding on to a national security document containing details of a potential military attack on Iran. That recording made it clear that Trump knew he had retained information classified at the highest level, and he had not declassified this material before leaving the White House.
There is a non-zero chance that Trump actually does not know where the documents are. Trump is all sorts of ****ed on this one.
So your best defense of trump is he either lied outright about the document or is so detached from reality that he invented its existence?
Hey Trump may have stolen classified documents. Didn't give them back when requested and subpoenaed. Bragged about having them and knowing they were classified. However, he didn't trip over some sandbags he didn't see. Let's not talk about walking down ramps though.
