Harden is Adrian Dantley all over again... Dantley could score his ass off... but he was a 1 on 1 player, selfish and not a team player...

He would have some outstanding games, but would be missing in action during playoff time..

He got traded from a Utah to Detroit and they thought he was the missing piece and he destroyed the morale of that team.. Detroit traded him for Aguirre and they won a championship...

Yes Harden can score.. That's his biggest positive..

Harden has played with superstar after superstar and he always goes missing in action when it counts..

He's a selfish player that only thinks about himself...

He has left teams in shambles...

All of this is the same as Dantley...

So yes instead of coming here and witching and complaining about Harden and his laziness, no defense and bs.. I just stopped watching...

I am looking forward to the upcoming team, hopefully without Harden..

Harden just led the entire league in assists this year, he’s way more than just a scorer.

Right my initial thoughts about that are A your insert joke here point and B Harden will be expired (probably retired) by the time our guys are entering their primes.

If someone (Sengun/Jalen/KPJ whoever) can’t take the team over from 36 or 37 year old Harden, we will have a bigger problem then just hosting old Harden.

I think he meant that those selfish decisions come off the court.

On the court his drive is not consistently great, he takes games off.

So weird to see people just manufactured nonsense into perceived reality.

If this has been posted on here already, forgive me.

The Philadelphia 76ers are eyeing Toronto Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet as a potential replacement for James Harden, according to NBA insider Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.

Both VanVleet and Harden can become unrestricted free agents this summer if they decline their player options for next season. VanVleet has been linked to the Sixers since the franchise hired his former coach, Nick Nurse.

“VanVleet has proven to be one of the better playmakers and facilitators in the league, and he already won a title in Toronto in 2019,” Siegel wrote. “The Sixers have been looking to add championship-level talents to their roster, and sources say the Raptors guard is high atop the team’s target list should Harden leave Philadelphia this offseason. Leaving Toronto for Philadelphia is not that crazy of a scenario for the 29-year-old guard.”

Harden is expected to leave the Sixers this offseason for the Houston Rockets, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer. The former MVP is treated like a “god in Houston.”

“The belief among NBA executives is that James Harden will rejoin the Houston Rockets this summer,” Pompey wrote. “Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta ‘loves’ the 76ers point guard. The franchise expects to reunite with him, sources say. Before the Rockets hired Ime Udoka on April 25, head coaching candidates were asked for their opinion on coaching Harden during the interview process, according to sources.

“Sources have said his interest in returning to Houston is mutual and not a ploy to get a lucrative deal out of the Sixers. His mother still lives in the city. He has several business ventures there. And, as one source said, ‘he’s treated like a god in Houston.’”

^ Philly in a real tough spot without Harden.

We should be able to squeeze an asset out of them to agree to a Sign and Trade, so they get a large trade exception.

He is in for a rude awakening.

Gods in frail mortal bodies never meet expectations fully.

Good on them for not disclosing his private situation in details.

From the way I view it was basically a sect of fans who truly admire n appreciate what Harden did those eight years and he has basically made it his personal second home(vs. his birth state) and Harden family seems to be entrenched in Htown which seems why those in the media keep thinking its a good chance the Beard returns to pay back his said debt that he claim he owes Rockets

And really god is a verb transitive which means one's action/being active, which those fanatics actions treat him as such and put him on high pedestal, to each their own

Its always good not to disclose people's private situation without their full consent signed n sealed, but since content is what media survives off of, that is the reason why certain personal stuff gets leaked rather the athlete agrees or not, it is what it be

Totally, I view it as 80% because of what is going on with his family that he wants to be back in Houston.

There is no good way to steer the ship around this topic because it is so important to him.

20% because he really wants to play for the Rockets for money reasons.

Obviously he would need tons of money to care for his family which is another link to his family reasons.

I rarely touched on it but Andrew Wiggins went thru something similar and it takes a toll on his play.

If they S&T Harden to us, they can turn around and have Toronto S&T VanVleet into the exception they create. Exception would have to be 33mill or greater.

Perhaps we make Philly give us a 2nd rounder for the privilege of creating the exemption

Love everything I'm hearing from the front office these days. Udoka's coaching really doesn't mesh with Harden's style. I hope Udoka opts for more team-oriented players or stays patient for higher calibre players. I hope he's not as insecure as some posters here about acquiring someone better over the next year (summer, mid season, following summer = 3 windows). With Udoka and our young core, we're going to build a team that free agents would love to join.

We have the leverage. If we don't offer Harden a contract then who with cap space is going to do it? No one. He's going to have to go back to Philly or ask them to Sign n Trade him. He won't have much leverage and he will have to accept what they offer him. That's exactly what his agent is trying to avoid. If he has an offer from the Rockets, he will have bargaining power cause they could lose him for nothing.

Unless it's for his mother, why on earth would he even want to come here unless he's given up on a title in which case who the hell wants someone like that?

Are you assuming Harden's contract will be only 2 years long? He is 34, and will be 36 two years from now. That's when our young guys should be ready to be star players. Or if they don't it doesn't really matter if Harden is here or not.

I actually give @T_Man props for that one, it was a call back to 2016 era Dadakota posts which were like "all harden does is score he'll never run an efficient offense he's ADRIAN DANTLEY" - then the Rockets went on a 3 year run of Harden leading the league in assists and running like top10 all-time offenses.
