He is an unrestricted FA, can play 1-3, good shooter, good defender and only 31 years old. 3 years 90M

Just turned 31. If we were on the cusp of playoff success, I'd agree with you. In my opinion, at this point the only vets we need are either under 27-28 or old enough that they won't insist on starting and taking minutes away from the youngsters.

I wouldn't do it at $30M AAV, but there hasn't been a lot of buzz about him this offseason, so maybe there's a chance we can get him on a smaller deal. Wouldn't hate it at like $70M over 3 or $55M over 2... He isn't that good defensively anymore though.

I don't think the Kings are going to let him go after their success this season. It would make no sense.

He's not walking from the Kings and vice versa. No thanks anyway

I thought the guy was like 38. He's been in the league forever....

We already have his son aka Jabari Smith.

Would be a good vet but way too expensive at that price tag ($30m/season). He's not worth almost 3 times the NT-MLE (an average player). The new CBA is going to force everyone to have a BIG gap between their few expensive players and the role players. We have to stop thinking about our cap space as if it's a pie we're cutting up and look more carefully at each individual contract and ensure we're getting great value. Otherwise we will discover a conference finals ceiling with no financial leeway to improve.

Rather have Grant Williams. Knows Udoka's system, not too expensive (I doubt more than $18m), younger, good shooter, good defender against tough playoff competition under Udoka. I don't think Barnes is better than Williams anyway. Not sure why I'd pay a dime more. That $12m you save there is MASSIVE. It's a whole other rotation player you can get.

Until just now when I googled his height, I didn't know Williams was born in Houston.

Harrison is sort of the vet for an OKC team, funnily.

Even though he wasn't there for long I still don't wanna cheer for a former Warrior if I can help it, I'd pass.

Aside from the points others have already made, on what planet can Harrison Barnes play PG? He's way more of a tweener forward than he is a playmaking guard, much less a point guard.

I assume @Hemingway meant that Barnes can defend 1-3, which was true some years ago, but I don't think he really can very well anymore.

Not the type of vet you want to overpay as he doesn’t move the needle much … maybe 2/20 or something

He’s someone I’d take at the right price. Solid vet and good enough player. But I agree w/ posters above, no way he isn’t a King.
