I saw someone comment elsewhere that he was throwing in the low 90s in one of his earlier starts, which might explain why he sucked to begin the season.
AA SP ERA for May: Arrighetti 0.67 Robaina 1.85 Gordon 2.16 Henley 3.38 Kouba 3.46 Brown 5.59 Plumlee 10.34 Chaidez 10.97 Robaina, Gordon, and Kouba should see AAA by the end of the year but it’s hard to see them getting called up to the majors. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Arrighetti was called up to Houston this season. Henley probably needs to stay in AA and focus on staying healthy and effective where he’s at.
Jackson Loftin was moved up to Sugar Land from Fayetteville to fill in for Rylan Bannon. Loftin, a 13th-round pick last year from Oral Roberts, went to Klein Collins. He's not having a good year at the plate (that's putting it lightly), but he's having a great year on the basepaths as he's 16-16 on stolen base attempts.
Nope, His Delivery looks Fine. Looks Normal and uses his Legs for Power. Lance McCullers has a very Awkward Delivery.
Jim Crane Spending Money on Facilities on Every Minor League Team, the Gym, Cafeteria have been Upgraded. New Trainers, Cooks is huge. Players look very Strong and Ready to be in the Majors.
France and Bielek are not playoff starting pitchers. We need to try and bring in a guy capable of being a no. 3 starter for a WS winner. I trust the Astros to make the right deal and their pitching coaches to elevate his play.
By the break Urquidy will be back. We have 3 pitchers in AA that can rotate in and out with France as the fifth and sixth pitchers. By September any of them can be as good or better than anyone we could trade for and there is plenty of time to sort them out. By putting Diaz at 1st base / DH and getting Lee Splitting time with Maldy in the second half the odds for an LCS appearance get much better. The only thing stopping any of this from happening is Dusty. Brown needs to get him under control. The sooner the better.
Jose Fleury @ Kannapolis: 5 IP, H, 2 BB, 6 K John Garcia (3) and Luis Encarnacion (2) hit solo homers for the Woodpeckers, which was enough for them to get a 2-1 win.
Asheville also got two solo home runs from Ryan Wrobleski (3; 4 season) and Miguel Palma (4)... but they were the only two hits they got in an 8-2 loss against Wilmington.
I don’t know, I can’t unsee it. Not saying he’s gonna be LMJ with the arm issues, just thought they looked somewhat similar. Maybe it’s the hair lol.
