I just think we need to see if Ben Sullivan even joins our staff before declaring he'll fix Amen's shot.

    Another two words, Jimmy Butler

Career 32% three point shooter... but three of the past four seasons he shot under 25% from three.

Jimmy is not the norm he's an anomaly. You are far more likely to be unsuccesful in this league with poor 3pt shooting than to be succesful. Besides his shooting form isn't broken while Amens is clearly broken. Watch Butler's 3s and tell me with a straight face that they look ugly.

Why are you guys bringing up outliers lol. Besides it's not expected centers to be good 3pt shooters.

Good thing Amen Thompson is also an anomaly. "Athletic freak" is I believe the term the pros have been using.

He looks like one no denying that. Do you expect his awful shooting form not to hold him back? It generally does to be honest. What makes him immune to that?

Honestly, he does need to get better to become a superstar, but he only really needs like 32% or so. Shooting requirements are different when you're a 6'7", 7' wingspan, freak athlete with elite playmaking abilities

Ben Sullivan the next miracle worker to join the organization tasked with fixing a jumper that looks like what’s left in the public porta potty after a hot summer day

he might give Lucas a break who was everything from the jump shot whisperer, player developer, KPJ therapist, team cook, pilot, and bus driver

25 to 32 seems like a pretty big jump to make considering you will have to completely change your shooting form. I'm not saying he can't or he won't however i always believe that unicorns come in every 10 or 20 years. The way people describe Amen you'd think only thing he's missing in his bag is 3pt and when he fixes it than you will have the perfect player in your hands. I don't think he's 1 step away from perfection and even if he is that step will be borderline impossible to take considering the rarity of unicorns. 6'7 can playmake, can score, dunk on centers can he build spacecrafts in his spare time as well? Also we are big on him why? Because he plays with bunch of kids. Something isn't right.

People also should remember that for a few years Ben Simmons was a very good NBA player with no shot. He was just smart about not shooting often. And he failed to develop a shot because he didn’t care.

Amen Thompson is 6’7. He could grow another half inch. As he focuses on developing a better shot, he will often have the advantage of seeing over his primary defender quite easily. Also, I just don’t think it is as easy as having his defender sag off of him because his jumper is poor. He is going to be downhill the minute that happens. Very similar to Giannis. Get down hill and make the right decision. Im a bit concerned about the future projection ofa Sengun and Thompson fit but that really is not an issue for a few years and there are so many variables that could make that concern null and void or alleviate it.

The key is to get to 32% at least IMO on thevthree ball. But a FAR bigger key is just being smart in the shots you do or don’t take.
