Went to LA this weekend to catch the opening weekend of the "last" Dead and Company tour (I mean, I have trouble believing they will completely hang it up given its a cash making machine - they will just create more offspring bands until Bob Weir dies).. Same party as it ever was, quality of sound was amazing at the Forum, typical greatest hits setlists, pregame nutso parking lot scene, lots of people being cool to each other, and John Meyer continues to surprise me filling into the "Jerry" spot - the dude can really play the guitar. Two very fun nights, brutal 6 hour flight home today. Seeing Flaming Lips perform Yoshimi in a couple weeks, then the Cure, then another Dead and Co show, then a long gap until Metallica and then Zach Brown Band. Also I'm in Germany for biz in late June so might catch Depeche Mode although I hate their new album.

I was but a high school senior in 1984 when I rolled into the Summit parking garage without a ticket for Duran Duran on their Union of the Snake tour. Got some $5 scalped tickets as we arrived just as they went on. Great show but so loud. Lots of mj being passed around too.
Last Saturday- Sleaford Mods July 26th- Lizzo July 28th- Slowdive August 5th- Eagles of Death Metal September 23rd- Tim Finn
Janet Jackson this week. My wife is absolutely over the moon as it's her favorite artist of all time. She refers to Michael Jackson as Janet's brother when we hear one of his songs playing. I'm ambivalent. Don't really care about Ludacris, who's opening, either. But it makes her crazy happy and that can lead to good things. Stevie Nicks in August. I'm going to need to mix some Americana in there somewhere or I'll go nuts. May go to Red Rocks to see the Avett Bros this summer.
Pixies- New Orleans June 21 Sigur Ros-Beacon Theatre NYC Aug 16 Sigur Ros Kings Theatre Brooklyn Aug 18 Damien Rice in November just havent decided in Chicago or LA.
They are touring with a 40 piece orchestra this trek. Going to be absolutely lit. We saw them in Chicago last summer and it was so good. We flew to Brooklyn the week after to see them again. Venue in Brooklyn (King’s Theatre) is an amazing place. So yea…. Making a vacation if NYC and hitting both shows. Worth every penny.
Going to Filter at Scout Bar in Clear Lake in August. Small venue, hoping to meet the band. Tickets are $25, still available. (we got a VIP table cause we bougie like that) https://wl.seetickets.us/event/Filter/555517?afflky=ScoutBarHouston
