We'll see if the HR from Abreu opens his door to more comfort at the plate

Altuve, Alvarez, Bregman, and Tucker are 4 top of the line hitters. I was really worried Altuve might not come back 100% immediately after his injury. I'm glad I was wrong.

i was also wrong on how long it was going to take for altuve to get going.

Granted, it's against the As but who gives a shiz. Altuve said it himself his timing is not 100% back either.

We'll see how he does against better pitching from here on out.

So it looks like we should see a lot of Alvarez in LF until/if Brantley gets back

Nathan Eovaldi is now on pace for 21 wins.

    Yikes.

That might be the worst update on an injured player that I've ever heard.

I would love to believe that but 97 mph off the bat that barely cleared the fence doesn't exude a ton of confidence, save for the relief it's given him and psychologically puts him in a much better space. Crossing fingers. I just need him to hit the rest of the season on a 90 RBI pace (i.e. 60 more RBIs the rest of the season). I don't care in what form it comes.

The rangers being good is a healthy thing which will keep a fire under our players all season. Competition always brings out the best of people in every aspect of life. I welcome it

It looks like the Astros should play Chas in LF to at least get defense.

I like the lineup a lot.

I was thinking this same lineup, except Yordan in LF, Dubon 2B, and Altuve DH.

Except, then one of those guys ( or Diaz) would need to DH.

Without Brantley, the team must still put a weak hitter at LF or DH vs RH staring pitcing.

Until the Astros get another LH run producer or Brantley returns that's the reality.

I don't think he realizes somebody also has to DH

If Dubon is playing he should be a 2nd. Particularly in Framber starts where there's a premium placed on infield defense.

At MMP which limits value of range in LF, Yordan starting with France on the mound, the difference in alignment is pretty negligible.

This looks like a trap series to me

Coming off an emotional 10 run win and series sweep

Neither of the top 2 starters pitching.

Twins have their top 2 starters and a rookie who Fangraphs listed as their #4 prospect w/ 50 grade.

I would be happy to win the series but it will be tough.
