I know the situation with Calvin is very, very difficult. But his presence really made the games enjoyable and I definately watched more often because of him. Seemed really lackluster after he left and he was really, really missed.
I would just want to know is anyone of ya'll going to the studio and call them to get Coop outta there? If so Im rooty for you
Should be a poll, but I believe Clutch more than Tim. Clutch does not work for the Rockets and can pass information on much more freely than Tim. Tim is on a leash for the Rockets, while we appreciate his comments, you have to take them with a grain of salt. Clutch...well, he does this for free, and has no ties to the organization. Clutch is someone I believe all the time, Tim is someone I believe when it does not involve internal Rocket decisions. He could not be truthful if he wanted to... DD
Sign me up on this petition. I think Cooper was a great basketball player and I'm sure she is a remarkable human being, but she CANNOT commentate on television worth a damn!
With all due respect, DaDakota -- I'm the one that negotiates the contracts with the broadcasters. The Broadcast Department is one of the groups that I'm responsible for. The broadcasters' salaries are in the budget I manage. I've also never posted anything on this board that I didn't believe was true. It was never considered. It's a false rumor. If you choose not to believe me on that ... your call. I should think it should be made clear to everyone here that we would never use Clutch to "float a trial balloon." I consider him a friend, and I have way too much respect for him for that. Clutch is also a pretty smart guy who would resist being used by anyone. He's proud of his independent status, and justifiably so. Besides that, the logic of floating a trial balloon on this is silly. I knew what this board's opinion of Cynthia was before this thread started. The only reason ever to float a trial balloon is if you hope to learn something by it. Tim
Tim, I had hoped to catch you on the other thread (Clutch's) Thanks for coming here. I am a long time fan (since the beginning) I am a hiring manager here in Houston and our company let go of our season tickets (bad decision). So now I have to purchase single game tickets or a mini pac. Or watch TV. For myself this website is invaluable, especially when we get some inside info, it increases the excitement we have for the team. It's fun to post and read good posts. My question for you is would you consider posting more here. I was thinking you do not have a carte blanche opportunity on Rockets.com to express some things in a personal way. Here you could do that. Most of us read Rockets.com. Go there often myself. But we love to check in here more often for the hopes and cravings of new information. BTW- Calvin was super, Matt B. is pretty good and Coop is a notch or 2 below them. Though she is not as bad as it has sounded here in the posts (my opinion) Van Chancellor was pretty good also
