I disagree, Luka is better than Harden: better more accurate shooter, better passer, etc. He hasn't been surrounded by first class talent. There is an argument that Harden has had better teams around him.
Seriously? going by your logic, Lebron is a better more accurate shooter than Klay Thompson because 51% from the field is better than 46%
Wasn't Harden also top scorer without free throws at least one season, if not more? Embiid's game is hard to watch. Luka is nowhere near the foul merchant Embiid is.
By a lot in 2019 and barely in 2020 The year Harden averaged 36.1 points per game he was scoring 26.4 points from the floor and 9.7 points from the line. He by far led the league in points from the field per game. If everyone’s FTs but Hardens counted that year he would have still almost led the league in scoring.
I enjoyed being the beneficiary of foul calls when Harden was here but I now realize how much the game has suffered due to people hunting for foul calls. It seems like there can't hardly be a drive anymore where the offensive player doesn't initiate some kind of contact or kick out his legs and fall down after a 3 point attempt.
A lot of Houston fans didn't realize why Harden was almost universally hated outside of the Houston fanbase. I don't live in Houston and constantly had to defend Harden's foul fishing against non-Rockets fans when he was at the peak of his career with the Rockets. What's frustrating is that Doncic had become a media darling while he's playing a very similar style as Harden's.
Doncic is hated across multiple fanbases. Not necessarily because of his playing style, but mostly because of his whining. He always had around 7 FTA per season except last season, when he had 10 FTA or so. He is big and strong and can finish through contact, so just like with Jokić, a lot of fouls on him go uncalled.
Doncic joined Bernard King, Wilt Chamberlain and Rick Barry as the lone players to score 50 on Christmas. It was the sixth 50-point performance of Doncic’s career, trailing only Jordan (nine) and LeBron James (eight) for the most by any player before turning 25 years old since the ABA-NBA merger, according to ESPN Stats & Information research. lulz at “since ABA-NBA merger” as being a significant date for statistics. I don’t think I’ve ever seen use of that date for individual stats. I guess there is prolly like 5 other players who’ve done it more.
Luka is a lot better than Harden, mainly because he cares more about winning more than going to strip clubs. He also got along with his 2nd costar whereas Harden feuded with everyone he played with till he got washed.
