It does seem realistic and reasonable to me personally, yes. Talent comes before positional fit, but positionally, defensively Harden can't defend guards anymore. Offensively, a Green/Porter lead team was terrible, which is totally fine at this point in their careers (21 & 23 y/o), but if the team's goal is "phase 2" / making the playoffs, then signing the best FA available does feel reasonable. Draft-wise, we should go BPA, and seeing how our FO has drafted, it seems that perceived upside has been a heavy factor in their BPA calculation. So drafting a Thompson twin checks out as reasonable. Offensively may be a poor fit, but Harden's contract is expiring, with him likely retiring, by the time a twin would be ready to do anything in this league anyway, same goes for all of our current young talents as well. Personally, I'd much rather draft Whitmore and max Reaves in FA, but I'm not going to be egotistical and call everything that isn't exactly what I'd want unreasonable and stupid while pouting and parroting the same points on this forum for months. Even though it's not my preference, it's reasonable to sign the best FA available and draft the highest upside available pick, given the team's goals. Now, Dillon Brooks? That's fcking unreasonable
Let’s just say that’s there’s a reason that, despite being considered the best point guard of his generation, Paul has played for 5 franchises.
This sure continues to age well. Randoms on CF's tried to say different, what a week ago. I'll just continue to sit back and laugh Kelly Iko on Twitter: "76ers guard James Harden has emerged as the top free agent target for the Houston Rockets this offseason, sources tell @TheAthletic. https://t.co/dtrh86Kt5T" / Twitter
The real question is how many strip joints has he visited.... Is he loyal to the Houston strip clubs only or are other cities involved......e.g. Vegas.....
I think this goes for many good players. If they won a chip early in their career as Kobe did, they would not necessarily need to move around......
Mike Conley, Jordan Clarkson, Donte DiVincenzo and even former Rockets player Chris Paul could be considered should they become available. Chris Paul got lumped in with the likes of Jordan Clarkson and Donte DiVincenzo when it came to PG options for the Rockets Tilman and CP3 hate each other…doubt Chris Paul wants to do any mentoring at his age anyways…yeah, he helped some of the young players in OKC, but that situation was always just a pit stop for him, he was looking to get the hell outta there ASAP
Good question. I am no expert on strip clubs, but I imagine every city in the US large enough to support an NBA team would have decent strip clubs for Harden to frequent.
What the **** are you talking about? Us CF randoms typically didn't say the Rockets wouldn't sign Harden. We said they shouldn't. We do have Tilman Fertitta as owner, so things like paying an aging star 30% of the cap are going to happen. Cause for you to celebrate! Loving that choking like a dominatrix.
Do you know what's #1 per capita? I thought it was Tampa... easily. Miami? Houston? New Orleans? NOPE! Portland, OR... and people wonder why Dame doesn't want to leave Edit: to be fair, IIRC Htown has MORE clubs (Portland has more per person)
This is just us working Harden down to a reasonable deal. I don’t see Philly paying him max regardless.
Actually there’s a couple folks it was directed to but apparently this got you feeling some type of way. Nice and yeah I’ll continue to do wtf I want
Gonna overpay Harden just so we can try to avoid handing OKC some picks. Craziest time to be a Rockets fan. People who want him back, you're like the idiot who keeps having to ask for the ex back who often go back to AA and rehab.
Compared to the great memory of winning less than 60 games in 3 years. You guys are the smart ones? Imagine that. Must listen to these folks!
Honestly. . . IMO . .. I like the idea of him holding cap space until our guys are ready. I'd give him a 2+1+1 deal In 3 yrs. . . when our guys are ready to explode. . . if he not producing cut him and open a Harden Size whole of cap space Rocket River
Declining 4 years 150 million, last year is only 50% guaranteed Keep him for 3 years, waive and stretch his 4th year. I'd be comfortable with that
