    On the one hand, fat acceptance and normalization is clearly a bad idea.

    On the other hand, humans were kinda of set up for failure. There was no way we were going to adapt to such insane changes in the way we eat, obtain, and prepare food over such a short amount of time. The obesity epidemic is an industrial age creation; you can follow it, without fail, as standards of living rise.

    So, perhaps fat empathy is in order, but fat acceptance is a bridge too far.

    Americans live in an environment where humans are designed to be fat.

    Abundance of food (calories are cheap! and easy to get). Zero need to move around on foot...you can and have to drive from home to fast food to work to bars to stadiums to home..

    Cultural acceptance of eating all the time. You go to any office and folks are constantly munching on something. Most people's meet ups and hang outs are over food.

    That said, you expect better for a PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE WHO IS PAID TO PLAY A SPORT.

    I don't know anyone who is calling DJ Khaled out for being fat. But I know of a lot of people ******** on Lizzo for being obese.
