I’m with you on that one. It’s a huge gamble. But one that is worth a shot a taking. If the Texans suffer injuries, the talent isn’t ready, etc. the Texans may find themselves picking in the top 3 next season again; a pick that now belongs to Arizona. But from what I’ve read, there isn’t a DE in the quality of Will Anderson next years draft, so a gamble with a calculated risk.

Anderson, I’ve read is an ideal Pass rusher in DeMeco’s system. So the compensation is a #12 pick, a top 2nd round pick, and hopefully no higher than a mid 1st round pick next seaso is quite fair. And at this point, even if it is higher, the prognoses was that with Anderson the Texans will have a legit pass rush to anchor the defensive schemes.

 

All criticism of the Anderson Trade begins and ends with the assumption Houston will be as bad in 2023 as it was in 2022. I for one, do not believe that for a second. And those who do are just plain too LAZY to do their homework.

And Stroud isn’t the franchise, you need to give that up. He could be, but right now he’s a physically limited rookie
