Jalen Green wouldn't mind the Rockets drafting Amen Thompson

This is the only response in this thread that I'm really interested in. Amen at #4 is the default.

I hope this dispels any notions that Jalen and Scoot Porter are a pair.

 

Just another example of Jalen's poor bbiq. Just get every athletic kid you can find. They don't have to be shooter or anything like that. Can he jump? Bring him in then.

Odd, given that if the Rockets go with Amen, you'd think they'd look to either move on from Green or send him to the bench. You can't have a weak shooting SG if you are going to bring in a PG that shoots at below the NBA level

Maybe Green is looking for a trade?

i'm a bit surprised at your endorsement, and as always i trust it. from what little i've seen on youtube i wasn't very high on him. henderson seemed a much much better prospect. if we could manage to trade up for scoot even letting go of say half our brooklyn picks, would you do that over simply taking amen at #4?

 

Beginning of interview Jalen says he won't do dunk contest again because his legs are weak and the way the contest is set up. 3 years in the league. Smh I don't see the winner mentality in this kid. Not because of the dunk contest but his overall bbiq.

 

My only concern with drafting Amen (and it’s potentially a silly one) is that this group the past two years had played on the court like dunking=winning. Putting another high flyer with no real big game grind it out experience isn’t adding much to the team. Not like you don’t want otherworldly athleticism but I worry that the immaturity of the guys has led to equating dunking with playing well.

 

His personality traits are not up to your liking or taste. That's fine. Don't confuse that with desire to win.

 

I'm moving more into the just take Amen #4 and develop him behind KPj or a real PG and don't worry about trading up for Scoot at all. I do worry about Scoot/Jalen/Sengun defensively. The things Amen can do, very few other players in the NBA can do. Drafting him would also make me alright with keeping Honcho around either as a backup PG/SG tandem or you could stagger some dangerous lineups with Green/KPj/Amen/new PG. Trade other youngins plus 20 and the Nets their picks and swaps back for Bridges at the 3 and we'd be in business.

I love Scoot, but am not about to give up what it would take to move up. No way.

 

I kind of want to photoshop Green's face to gaga because of his nails...

 

Rockets need to find any and every way possible to move up to the 2nd pick and get Amen Thompson....

 

I hope you're right and I'm wrong. This upcoming season will show us what he's about especially if our new coach holds them accountable.
