Portland vs. HoustonJuly 23, 2001 Blazers 89, Rockets 84 Zach Randolph scored 14 of his 39 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Portland Trailblazers to a 89-84 victory over the Houston Rockets in the third game of the day. The Blazers were ahead by four at the end of the first quarter and were up by two at the half. The game was tied at 66 at the end of the third quarter. In addition to Randolph's game high 39 points he pulled down a game high 10 rebounds to lead the Blazers and Maurice Carter came off the bench to add 19 points. Houston was led by Omar Sneed with 18 points while rookie Eddie Griffin added 16 points and 10 boards. Portland is now 2-0 in the Revue and will play their next game against the Cleveland Cavs at noon Thursday, July 24 in a nationally televised game on ESPN2. Gosh, he's looking like he could be a real steal . . . Even though these are just summer league games, still -- there's something to be said about consistently scoring well. His competition may be a bit soft, and not the ideal counter to his game.
