i just watched F-9/11 today for the first time.

    here's the timeline

    1. Outside the classroom Andrew Card tells the President a single-engine plane crashed into the WTC

    2. at 8:55am before entering the classroom Bush calls Condi Rice and she tells him it was twin engine plane and then a commercial plane

    3. at 9:05 Card tells the President of the 2nd plane while he's seated in the classroom.

    3. Shortly before 9:15 he returned to a holding room in the school

    4. the President leaves the school at 9:35

    5. Air Force One leaves the airport at 9:54

He entered the classroom AFTER learning about the first plane.
Even if he thought it was "pilot error" I think that should have been his priority rather than his photo-op.

if you are the President and someone told you a plane crashed into the tallest building in the nation's largest city then you would have gone ahead into that classroom? why?

Accidents (he thought at the time) happen. Where do you draw the line at when he should proceed as usual and when not to?

Any mention of Bush's later assertion that he had seen the video of the first plane hitting the tower prior to going in to read about goats?

Sort of brings THK-gate a bit more into persective, no?

sorry the timeline i posted was from the 9/11 report not Moore's film. i was going to write after that first sentence that Moore shows about 20-30 seconds of Bush sitting. I wish he had shown the whole 7 minutes but I guess it would have gotten boring after the first minute. He should have shown the whole thing during the closing credits.

so can i take that as a yes that you would have done the same thing?

if california had an big earthquake or some other big natural disaster happened would Bush have proceeded? I don't see how a plane crashing into a building is much different.

I love the "armchair presidenting" that goes on in this forum.

"Well, all he'd have to do is... blah, blah, blah."

You keep thinkin' that, people... keep on thinkin' that.

I hope and pray that baffoons with knee-jerk reactions and "fire-in-the-opera-house" responses don't ever run my country.

What would the Bush haters rather he do? Get up calmly, say "sorry kids I'se gotta go do sum Presidentin'" and launch a few nukes on someone?

    Tell me, geniuses...

How is the President going to "make decisions" that alter the outcome when no one, not a single soul outside of the terrorist group at the moment, knew exactly what was happening for several hours, much less 20-30 minutes? Huh?

What... Is he gonna run down to the chopper and fly into NYC as the "leader of the Free World" and don a firemen's outfit and start pulling folks out himself? Sorry but that kind of heroic fantasy is reserved for the likes of Bill Paxton in "Independence Day." Hollywood really does have the liberal, Bush hating, side of the aisle snowed into a false sense of reality. THIS IS REAL LIFE... THERE IS AN ORDER OF OPERATION TO NATIONAL SECURITY DECISIONS!!!!

Please. Keep the "armchairing" to the G.A.R.M. or the Texans' Hangout!

    GET REAL!!!

btw- Twisting the truth about what was on a newspaper's front page headline, no matter what one may decide to twist (again like we did last summer, baby) and "call" it... is deception. Deception = LIE.

    Shove it!

Moore despite this troubling error had made a film that overall is more truthful than what the New York Times, the mainstream media and certainly the Bush Adminsitration presented regarding Iraq, wmd and the threat of Iraq to the US. The New York Times at least has somewhat apologized for its role in deceiving the American people. Fox, of course has not. Moore should apoogize for his error, too. Moore at least does not present his film as standard news.

Those who find justification in this deception, minor though it is, to find the whole film with its dozens of news clips, and Moore as a liar, while Bush a truth teller, are true believers. The whole misconception of considering all falsehoods equal-- lies about blow jobs, wmd, whether Iraq was a threat or the particular date of a headline or whether it was on the front page is not helpful.

Iraq is still a threat. Al Q operatives are beheading people and insurgents claiming loyalty to the Al Q and Saddam are shooting, and killing Americans.... That's not a threat? No threat would be -> We show up, they peacefully let us in to inspect with the UN inspectors, we leave unscathed. A threat shoots back because they are hiding something. Ever see Sweden shoot back?

Clinton still messed around. Enough said.

There were WMD's before. Have been trace amounts blow up in car bombs recently... may be more yet.

Moore claims Bush a liar, yet lies himself... and THAT has actually been undeniably proven.

    Your point again?

Oh, that's right... dish it out, but can't take it back.

Shove it... to use your Herion's terminology... if you don't like the truth. (of course she had just lied when she said it... we're speaking about reality here... you know, the truth? Oooops, sorry. I forgot you guys either a) can't handle the truth b) don't know what the truth is c) like to fuzz the truth's edges or d) all that.)

GET A PARTY PLATFORM BESIDES "ANYONE BUT BUSH IN 2004" and we'll talk. That would be helpful.

Nominate someone who doesn't have the poorest, weakest, and least impressive record in modern public service history and then we'll talk.

Nominate someone who doesn't have the poorest, weakest, and least impressive record in recent congressional history and then we'll talk some more.

BTW - not sure how you say that... I guess you've been able to do everything as planned for your ficticious country when someone blew up your fantasy WTC?

Cue RocketmanTex.... Sometimes the obvious is too easy, because the obvious is the truth.

Yet again. Besides, this administration has done quite well given the circumstances... and I for one, of many, am better off than I was 4 years ago.

RE-ELECT BUSH... and reconsider running Hillary in '08.
