Is mapquest really the best place to find driving directions? Im trying to find directions from Rocky Mount, NC 27864 to Houston, TX 77077 and I just believe there is a quicker way than goign through all the major cities, in fact, i believe it'd take longer gonig THROUGH them. Is there a site you'd perfer over Mapquest or Yahoo?
I'm around Winston-Salem and have made that drive to Houston before. I like I-40 to Nashville and southwest through Arkansas into east Texas and 59 (?) into Houston. Four years ago, I made it from Houston to Nashville the first day (about 14 hours) and Nashville to WS (about 8 hours) the next day. How much time do you have or are you wanting to hurry on?
I wish I had a better site to suggest, but all I can say is I dont trust mapquest. I used it for directions to an addy in SA last year, and it was matter of factly wrong. Since then I just map my own route going by a good old paper and ink map. Its more fun too.
In november my mom, my aunt, and my cousin will be driving down to see me (becase they are too scared of a plane!!! ) They really want to get it planned. It'll take them, I'm guessing 1.5-2.5 days. Between restrooms, food, and other emergencies along the way, and their slow driving..... yeah, 2.5. Which is bad considering they'd be taking time off of work (5 days), and they'd spend 80-90% of it driving.
