the village was different, way it started off i was thinkin, man same old night shyamlan movie, but then man it took off, im proud of my indian bro makin a movie like that
Sixth Sense > Signs >>>> The Village >>>>>>>>>>> Unbreakable. ***Spoiler*** The whole time I was watching "The Village" I was thinking that the dialogue was awful. Badly written, overly stilted even for the 19th century, awful awful awful, and I hated it. But it's not actually the 19th century, and the people in the village were just talking like they imagined 19th-century folk would. And I bet that if we all started talking old-fashioned (or how we imagined that to be), it'd sound pretty bad too. So now I wonder, did M. Night write the dialogue badly on purpose? Am I allowed to hate it, or was it there for added realism? The only thing that makes me think it was unintentionally bad is that Walker was a professor of history and should have had a better idea of how to talk 19-century style than throwing in random "thee"s and not using contractions.
i saw it last night, and it's definitely the worst of his movies i've seen. have yet to catch unbreakable though. i pretty much knew the "twist",if that's what you want to call it, going in so that might have hurt it but i doubt i would have really liked it anyways.

I saw it and really enjoyed it...I felt it was better than "Unbreakable" and "Signs" but definitely not better than "Sixth Sense". I think most of you were going into it expecting a freddy krugar kind of horror flick with lots of blood and battles between the monsters and humans....When you didn't get that you were dissapointed...M Knight is a really good story teller and I like the way he teases you with monsters rather than show them all out. I liked it alot and the ending made it even better b/c it fooled tha hell outa you just like sixth sense. Those who said they knew the ending from the begining are full of $hit...unless they read hints before going to see the movie. I recomend it if you have an attention span and don't just like movies with all special effects. Peace.
you should still... it's not that bad. it was entertaining. plus you're married right? bring your wife... it seems like chicks could dig this movie. yes the twist is obvious. yes it's no sixth sense. but hey it's still a legit movie and worth the price of admission in my view. dude there's so many haters on this board. if it's not the next sliced bread... hate on it!
I joked to my friend about halfway through the movie about the twist ending. I didn't actually think it would be true, but sure enough, I was right. This is the first movie that I've ever guessed the ending to.
