I generally like The Boys but I think shock, blood and gore for the sake of shock, blood and gore isn't the way to go. What makes The Boys interesting to me isn't exploding penises, super hero orgies, whale guts, etc.. but that it has interesting characters with a compelling story. If they decide just trying to shock people is more important than character and story I'm probably going to skip next season.
You remember the first 2 minutes where the guys girlfriend exploded into liquid right? It's been the tone from the jump. It's probably just not for you.
That served a purpose of setting the stage for why he joined The Boys. If all they were doing was exploding her for the sake of being shocking I probably wouldn't have kept on watchihng. That was one reason why I didn't get into The Diabolical Cartoons. Those were just short vignettes that seemed more about how much shock value they could produce than really about a compelling story.
Same. I stopped watching after that season. That was enough for me. I don't mind some gore but it turned into just a freak show.
When is this season coming out? Seems like forever. Also serves as an inside joke (pun intended) for the writers and crew to troll us. Seems like a trend for shows to put in gratuitous raunchy nudity is to equalize the gender count...
I mean they already tamed it down from the comics. there's a limit to how much to stray from source material.
