I wonder if it'd help fix his body. His burst is like GONE gone. He's not even that old in NBA years. The next year or two will be interesting (I hope we don't give him a geriatric CP3 contract)
I don't know how you can go out so passively. Like I would respect if Harden was fed up with the narrative and his stinkers in elimination games so he did everything he could to be as aggressive as possible. The passive, not looking at the basket and just passing it out started the game off and it was a bad sign. He was in his head again. And how does he not recognize it and get fired up? And how does nobody get in his face, like Tucker did with Embiid? All around I don't get this situation. In the end it's on Harden though and we know tough love doesn't work for him so guess nobody's found a way to get him going. It's really sad to see. He's easily the worst in elimination games. The biggest drop off in effective play for sure.
So often the same story with Harden in knockout games, yet you have people just blindly defending him for years now and not seeing how he often got bailed out by teammates in playoffs with the Rox too.
The closest he got to winning it all was when he played with Durant and Westbrook at age 22 and even then I think he disappeared, a wasted opportunity.
Why is everyone so surprised in this thread? He does this every freaking year. After that performance vs the Kawahi-less Spurs in 2017, I knew he was a poser.
I'm a big Harden fan. His bad games against Boston are because he has lost a step which unfortunately means it's over. It's a couple of years earlier than most but he was an average leaper to begin with and he can no longer go over anyone. The big games against Boston were all jump shots
His age is not old but his body is old. He also lost all that drive and motivation to stay in great shape and he's just coasting and relying on his talent now Ala Melo/Tmac
I’d hate to see his career fall off a cliff for reasons that he absolutely can control. But it’s not looking good (unless a change happens?)
Did Embid and doc throw everyone under the bus as usual? Didn't watch any post game lol. If he doesn't came back here I hope he goes to a contending team where is the 3rd option. A team like Milwaukee, either LA team or Phoenix would be so perfect. They all need a legitimate PG. I don't think Harden wants to be the guy anymore. He knows he can't be. But an elite PG he is.
[Ramona Shelburne] James Harden’s future with the Sixers will be determined by the team’s decision to fire or retain Doc Rivers as the head coach. It would be hard to see Harden wanting to come back and play for Doc again (streamable.com)
