Well, now its happened......I've now been bitten by the "Pipe Dream Trade Scenario" bug that's turned CC.net up-side down this off-season.

I can only think of one cure........post my thoughts and hope this isn’t the start to an in-curable disease of non-sense trade scenarios from me.

    Here goes........

Given Kidd's recent trade demands, I've been thinking long where this guy might go. While sources have said that LA, SA and Dallas are his targets, we can almost for certain eliminate LA and SA off the bat due to the financial flexibility (or lack thereof). And from the Mavs standpoint, it just doesn’t make sense to gut your roster to try and fit Kidd's fat contract (along with his now surgically repaired gimp leg) on this team with young players like Dirk, Daniels, Howard and Devin Harris (this years 5th pick). This team needs to continue the youth movement it has going and save its trade pieces to acquire a younger impact player....like say the "often floated in trade rumors" Elton Brand........

Since Kidd's career doesn’t have much time left, I feel he needs to go to a team who's "window of opportunity" doesn’t have much time left.

To me, that qualifies only one team......Sacramento.

Its quite obvious there "window of opportunity" to land that elusive championship rings is now closing. And at this point in time, I feel they will do anything they can to improve there team to keep up with the rest of the constantly improving West. Landing Kidd would not only keep that "window" open for them, but it might get them one step closer a championship, now that the Laker dynasty has been reduced to dust and is out of there way.

As for how Kidd would fit in Sacto.....remember, he played college ball there once upon a time at Cal so one can’t rule out a return to Sacto. And besides, if Utah can attract free agents like it did this year, so can Sacto, right? And as for his wife.....he can literally "leave his heart in San Francisco" by leaving Joumana and that fat head kid of his in nearby SF to suit there "yuppie-like" needs and tastes. (just as long as its not in Haight-Ashbury...;) )

So in light of this, I purpose this three team deal to meet everyone’s needs.......

    Sacto receives Kidd

    Rockets receive Bibby and filler....

NJ receives Rockets 6.9 million dollar Trade exception along with expiring contract of Erick Piatkowski and a future first rounder.

Now before all the financial salary cap guru's collectively scream "the numbers don’t match," just know this is sort of an estimate. Its far too late for me to divulge into salary numbers. Feel free to rework the "proposed pipe-dream" deal to where the numbers match up.

I feel this trade would fill everyone's needs. NJ can continue its wholesale liquidation of the franchise in preparation for the move to Brooklyn. Kidd has his opportunity to win (wife and "fat head" still live like yuppies in the city). Meanwhile, the Kings as a team are thrusted back into the title hunt they appeared to be slipping out of. And the Rockets get the young point guard they've been looking for to develop along side Yao and T-Mac.

So there you have it......whadda you think???

Is have the "trade scenario" virus helping me out or should I seek a remedy immediately..... ;)

Though there have been some just about as bad, this is one of the worst ever!

Why would New Jersey trade Kidd for Pike and TE? Why not just take Bibby??

Please, please people quit inventing these ridiculous trade threads, or at least confine them to one thread: stupid ass ideas!

    "We'll throw in the trainer...."

before we go into the detailed numbers, can any cap experts confirm that the proposed use of TE does not violate the "you can't combine TE with other player in trades" rule?

otherwise, I like this kind of thinking, where we don't get the primary player in return, but be benefited as a third team...

    Well lets see Big Smooth.......

To RECAP........NJ has traded both Kenyon Martin and Kerry Kittles and has recieved no live actual bodies in return. Not even a stiff.....

And its no secret the Nets are looking at dramatically slashing payroll either.....

Well Kittles wasn't worth much and Martin was traded for 3 first round picks.

Does your trade idea in fact include the trainer or just a ball boy?

First off, I'm pleased to see that you love my (as I have previously labeled) "pipe dream" proposal......

And like I said earlier, its just an idea and you guys can rework it to make it more realistic.

If you have a better idea for this trade proposal.....spit it out

My reply if I was tigereye:

My trade includes Colin Pine b*tch! COLIN F*CKING PINE!!! Plus we get one of those badass sweat mopping guys from NJ to so it'll work under the CBA. And you want to know why all this cool, unbelievable sh*t will happen? Because tigereye trades KICK ASS!

Want to try killing my dream now, SmoothOperator? Huh? Do ya? Yeah, DIDN"T THINK SO!

    OWNED!

    ---

Then maybe I could get my thread locked and closed before any more people could see it.

Well, I'd be willing to give up Colin, but no way we're giving up Keith Jones!!! He's untouchable!

The problem that I have with this trade is that we are giving up way too much. With Pike and the TE we could probably go for Garnett and then put together a package of Mo T. and Spoon for Duncan to backup the 4 and 5 spots. I mean Yao and KG are going to get tired right?

Yes that would still leave us thin at the point but Boki and Howard might land us Marbury, or maybe Isiah could come out of retirement and trade himself to us along with Alan Houston to backup T-mac.

Once Shaq becomes a free agent he can take the vet minimum to play behind Yao and Duncan!

Dude, you forgot the all-important lineup summary and comment on how awesome it is. For example:

    Yao/Shaq/Duncan
    KG/Duncan/ badass sweat mopper
    JJ/ free agent (Jesus?)/ Griffin
    T-Mac/Houston
    Marbury/Lue/Gaines

Man, this roster is so damn plausable, I'm gonna sh*t myself!

    ----

    Now, that's a trade proposal.

That was hilarious! But one problem: With all of those guys how would Jesus get enough touches. Plus, I think he's more of a 4 than a 3...

No, you cannot aggregate the trade exception amount ($6.9M) with player salaries to acquire a higher priced player.

In order to use the TE, you can acquire player/players that fit under the TE amount, but the remainder of the trade also has to work on it's own.

So, Piatkowski ($3.5M) + TE ($6.9M) for a $10.4M player is NOT allowed.

    Piatkowski ($3.5M) + TE ($6.9M) for a $6.9M player is legal.

    Hopefully that helps.

Boston trades: C Michael Stewart (0.5 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.0 apg in 5.9 minutes)
    C Chris Mihm
SF Jumaine Jones (2.2 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.3 apg in 8.9 minutes)
Boston receives: PF Maurice Taylor (11.5 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 27.8 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +0.4 ppg, +0.8 rpg, and -2.4 apg.

Houston trades: PF Maurice Taylor (11.5 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 27.8 minutes)
SF Clarence Weatherspoon (5.0 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 0.6 apg in 16.7 minutes)
Houston receives: SG Lucious Harris (6.9 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 2.0 apg in 69 games)
PG Mike Bibby (18.4 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 5.4 apg in 82 games)
Change in team outlook: +8.8 ppg, -3.6 rpg, and +5.4 apg.

New Jersey trades: PG Jason Kidd (15.5 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 9.2 apg in 36.5 minutes)
SG Lucious Harris (6.9 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 2.0 apg in 21.8 minutes)
New Jersey receives: C Michael Stewart (0.5 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.0 apg in 25 games)
    C Chris Mihm
SF Jumaine Jones (2.2 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.3 apg in 42 games)
SF Clarence Weatherspoon (5.0 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 0.6 apg in 52 games)
Change in team outlook: -6.3 ppg, -0.2 rpg, and -6.8 apg.

Sacramento trades: PG Mike Bibby (18.4 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 5.4 apg in 36.4 minutes)
Sacramento receives: PG Jason Kidd (15.5 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 9.2 apg in 67 games)

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

The numbers are slightly off, and we will have to send New Jersey an unprotected first next year.

The bigger issue would be to convince Sacramento to increase their payroll, Kidd makes significantly more than Bibby.

The solution to both may be to follow up with this:

Bobby Jackson + small filler to New Jersey
    TE to Sacramento
    Alonzo Mourning to Houston

In that case, the draft pick should not be necessary.

    Here are the teams:

    (Boston)
    Lafrentz/Blount
    MoT/Jefferson/Blount
    Welsch/Pierce
    Pierce/Ricky Davis
    Atkins/Banks

    (Houston)
    Yao/Mourning
    Howard/Mourning
    JJ/Boki/AG
    T-Mac/Pike/Harris
    Bibby/Lue/Harris

    (New Jersey)
    Kristic/Collins/Yogi
    Mihm/Aaron Williams/Weatherspoon
    Jefferson/Jumaine Jones
    Buford/Jefferson
    Bobby Jaxson/Planicic

    (Sacramento)
    Miller/Ostertag
    Webber/Miller/Songaila
    Stojakovic/Christie
    Christie/Minard/Martin
Kidd/Christie?/Maybe we can send them Lue somehow

    Reasons:

Sacramento gets the master of their offense, Boston gets a scorer who fits into what they want to do, New Jersey decimate all long contracts, Houston gets Bibby.

It's unlikely, and even my numbers are slightly off, but this would probably be the closest way to do it.

I'd still rather have Kidd than Bibby, but I'd be fine with Bibby, too!

I can’t think of any scenario where the Rockets could land Bibby. But considering how much New Jersey wants to save money, I do think the Rockets MIGHT be able to broker any deal for Kidd. This deal perhaps would work.

    Memphis receives:
    Kidd (15 million)

    New Jersey Receives:
Bonzi Wells (8 million contract expiring after next season)
    7 mil Trade exception

    Houston Receives:
    Jason Williams (7 million)

Memphis gets the superstar they need.
New Jersey gets to dump 7 million dollar in salary for the season and they get an expiring contract.
    Houston gets their point guard.

    THIS IS REDICULOUS!!!!!

if you could pick, would you take Bibby or Kidd......BIBBY!!!! He is younger and has potential to be just as good if not better than Kidd. WHY would sacramento want to pay more for a much older product????

    Really?

You don't think Bibby's skills are better for this team? His midrange game and his 3-pt shooting?
