It has sucked the past few years and it sucks not having the Rox playing this time of year but I don't miss these embarrassing exits with Harden. Just move on.
Same old big game James Harden NO SHOW every big game NO SHOW. Please don’t bring that this guy back. OK City Choke Houston Choke NJ Choke Philly Choke nothing but a choke artist
Hopefully this will make Fertitta think twice about paying that man. What an embarrassment once again. If only he would own up to it and try to learn from it. I would've seen a shrink or someone years ago.
This simply isn't a player you want running your franchise again. Learn the lesson, turn the page and don't look back.
@DatRocketFan I was wishing him the best these last 3 seasons. But please please please do not bring back an aging Harden that will 100% get worse every single season. I am begging you. Sign FVV. Draft a PG. Scoot, Black, Wallace with FVV or another vet to start for a while then back the young guy up. You have a plethora of options other than Harden. Choose one
After he gets rid of it what does he contribute other than "gravity" (serious question) It becomes a 4 on 4. He will stand on the same spot 98%+ of the time after a pass...
What you see is what you get. There will be some great games. There will be some games where he is not as engaged or just struggles overall. I see both sides. Im leaving it up to Ime. He is now responsible for culture. If he decides it is a good idea, then Im willing to see if the benefits to our development can outweigh the negatives for 2-3 years.
Yeah I can't remember the offensive sets they ran as much. I just remember he went OFF in one of the most brilliant playoff runs ever. Thanks
That's probably likely, and unless if the org thinks playoffs only = success, then it would be huge mistake to bring him back.
If it looks like a snake and hisses like a snake…do you say it’s a snake or do you have to get bit to find out…
For this franchise in its current state it definitely does when you can barely win 20 games. That’s the point. There’s steps to this. Folks want to go from the worst to the best overnight. There’s no such thing
Embiid-ball is even worse than Houston Harden-ISO ball in the playoffs spend half the shot clock trying to dump the ball into Embiid outside of the paint, then he holds it and goes to work either trying to bully to the rim, trying a tough midrange jumper, or turning it over that’s pretty much the Sixers offense on a majority of possessions game 1 without Embiid was a bunch of PnR, spaced floor, shooting threes
Acting like this game changes my mind. If he comes he comes. Either u suck it up and enjoy the last few season of harden or btch the rest of the time like the others. I welcome him regardless, we ain't winning anything without him, and at least with him we might make it into playoffs to get experience. Harden being worse as the years go by is still productive than most folks in the league. Gotta stop acting like hes gonna drop off dramatically. Man still averaged 20 pts/ 10 assists this season. Playmaking doesn't just disappear unless u are suggesting he rapidly becomes blind as he gets older.
This is your bearded hero loser… He's tired. He's concussed. He went to the club. He's drunk. He doesn't have enough help. He quit. Why poor Harden has the worst luck and continues to come up small: Poor/bad owners (Clay Bennett/Leslie Alexander/Tilman Fertitta) GM(Morey) didn’t give him enough help/terrible role players who didn’t step up. Bad coaches(Brooks/McHale/Bickerstaff/Nash/Rivers) Old/washed/injured/batshit crazy stars who let him down(Howard, Paul, Westbrook, Durant, Irving, Embiid) He was just a young pup coming off the bench in OKC; can’t hold it against him. Harden himself was injured in Brooklyn; can’t hold it against him or else he would have won a title! It was Durant’s toe! It was Paul’s hamstring! Blame his teammates/coaches/GMs all you want. Damian Lillard .9? Getting benched & watching Josh Smith/Corey Brewer bring the team back? Losing by 39 to the Spurs WITHOUT Kawhi and Tony? Lost to Durant/Cousin-less Warriors team in G5(Durant exits with 2 minutes left in the 3rd; Harden takes one shot in the final 7 minutes) G6 no Durant, no Cousins, Curry/Green in foul trouble, Curry scoreless at half; up 89-82 before Steph goes nuclear & wins the game Setting a playoff record for most turnovers in a game? Matt Barnes trash talks to your mother and NOTHING?! Spoiler: In case Reddit link doesn’t show/work Harden's last 4 playoffs (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) have ended by him breaking the playoffs single game turnover record with 13 turnovers, getting blown out by 33 points by a team missing their best player due to injury, getting blown out at home by 39 points by a team missing their best player due to injury in addition to missing their starting point guard. Harden was also extremely inefficient in the Blazers series in 2014. 2012: Harden choked in the Finals when he played for OKC. 2013: Harden choked in the first round against a team missing Westbrook. Harden shot 7/22 at home in the elimination game against an OKC team missing Westbrook. 2014: Harden choked in the first round losing the first two games at home to the Blazers. Harden had an extremely inefficient series. Harden had 1 made field goal for 2 points, 0 free throws made, and 0 assists in the last 18 minutes of 2014 game 6 in a close game. 2015: Harden choked again. Harden got benched in a elimination game in the previous round and needed Josh Smith/Corey Brewer/Dwight to save him. Then in the next round against the Warriors, the Rockets lost by 35 at home in game 3 and Harden was terrible. Harden broke the record for most turnovers in a playoff game ever in game 5, and the Rockets were eliminated. 2016: Harden choked and got blown out multiple times by a team missing Curry (reigning back to back league MVP at the time). 2017: Harden choked against a team missing Kawhi and Parker. Harden lost by 39 points at home in game 6 to a Spurs team missing Kawhi and Parker and got eliminated. Harden had 3 times as many turnovers than field goals made in game 6. Harden lost at home by 39 points to a team missing a consensus top 5 player and best 2 way player in the league. After the game, 5 Hall of Fame players said Harden quit. 2018: Harden shoots 24 percent from 3 and goes 0-22 from three at one point during the wcf. Had Houston looking to Eric Gordon for ball movements and scoring late in games 6-7- 2019 Harden shoots 58.3% from free throws & caused 6 turnovers which accounted 10 points for a Golden State Warriors team without Kevin Durant, DeMarcus Cousins and a depleted bench. Never mind that Harden missed plenty defensive assignments (which doesn't shows in box score) and that offensive foul against Dray with the remaining 2 minutes left during 4th quarter in a one possession game was inexcusable. Much like Jordan didn't only play 6 years and go 6-6, Harden didn't only play 4 years and lose to the Warriors. vs Heat in the Finals where he came up small? vs Thunder? vs Blazers? vs Spurs? 2014 L to Dame 2015 semifinals watched comeback vs. Clippers on the bench 2015 G5 vs Warriors 2-11, 14 points 12 turnovers 2016 Gentleman’s swept vs Warriors in a series Curry played “2 games” (38 total minutes in the series) 2017 G6 L by 39 to Spurs at home without Kawhi and Tony; 2-11, 10 points, 6 turnovers (the famous “was he concussed?”, “was he drunk?”, “did he stay out all morning partying?” game) 2019 G5 Harden takes one shot in the final 7 minutes 2019 G6 Curry/Green in foul trouble; And the flip side of Harden, Curry(scoreless at half) goes nuclear for 33 second half points(23 in 4th) as the Warriors win 2021 Harden himself was “hurt” blahblahblah Fast forward to today,… Game 7, win or go home. Classic “Big Game James” … 41 minutes, 3-11, 9 points, 7 assists, 5 turnovers, sees his team blown out, loses by 24 And the nerve of Harden fans to discredit Curry and Kawhi and Giannis’ championships. LOL “They’re not legit!” “That was team was injured!” “If you put Harden on the Warriors/[insert super team here], he’d have at least 4 championships too!” He’s right. Watching James in the playoffs is scary. SAY NO TO JAMES FRAUDEN!
Agreed. I would expect the Rockets to finish between 5-8 with the current roster + Harden next year. However, I would rather have players on the team that don't choke in big moments. Harden has disappeared in big playoffs moments with Dwight, with CP, with Russ, with KD, and now with MVP Embiid - at this point in his career, i dont see him flipping the script.
