I'm always happy when I get a good fretless pic. With Slapshifter, I always play fretless, so it is easy to catch me playing it in a photo, but I'm only on it about 1/2 the time in orange is in. It's such a fun instrument to play.
Haily's (that's what my gig spreadsheet says - manager books everything for us). Our music is a mix of synth pop and rock. Website is www.modulator.org and you can hear a sample. I'm assuming you're in Denton so hope you can make it. Again, wish I could see Orange is In. Post your website address, Jeff, and I'll bookmark it.
subtomic, Is your music anything like Postal Service? I listened to a sample but I really couldn't tell.
It's still a couple weeks away, but I thought I would also note that Carl Hayn and the Holdouts will be at Cactus on Sat Aug 14. I have uploaded a couple of their songs to my humble Live365 station - http://www.live365.com/stations/307853. I hope to add Modulator after the show tomorrow (I'm assuming they will have some of their EPs for sale). Ideally I would like to add some more music from some of the other forum folk who are in bands (i.e. Blendt, Jeff's two bands, etc.)
Not bad stuff. Not the sort of music I usually listen to, but not bad at all... I've been to Hailey's a couple of times to see my friend's band (www.wellwishermusic.com) and it's a pretty cool little place. They have a great selection of draft beers, all sorts of micro's. I have to work Saturday night, but I'll try to make it up there if I get off in time!
Good luck with your show Jeff. I now live in San Diego, so.... I had the honor of playing at Rudyards a number of times in the late 80's and have very fond memories of it.
I'm going tonight and I am curious as to how many people from here are going to show up. It would be cool if we could meet up a little bit before the show and have a good number to support Jeff and the band. B
Thanks, guys. Should be a fun show. By the way, I just put up our new website. I've been working pretty hard on it this past week: http://www.orangeisin.com/ Although, I should note that a couple things on it aren't quite done. But, I wanted to get the bulk of it done before tonight. The Slapshifter (my other band) site should be coming in another couple weeks.
Jeff, Had a good time as usual. I hope folks will come out and support your local acts (wherever local might be for you). A little sense of adventure goes a long way when it comes to music.
