Yeah, after that alley-oops, he pounded his chest ala Francis. I guess he learned a few things from Steve. And how about that monster dunk with the defender draped over him. He was playing with an attitude near the end of the game. I think Yao is pissed losing so badly. I hope they will not freeze Yao out the next game like they did today. 10 shots for your most dominant player is ridiculous. Almost all dominant players should take minimum 20 shots.
thats ridiculous! everyone else on that team is a scrub he should be getting at least 50 touches a game
That Yi JiLian kid sure reminds me of KG. Same build and their movement is very similar. At 7'1", he's taller than KG. That's a special kid who gonna put his stamp in the NBA in the future.
do not complain about yao's field goal attempts just yet. 10 might sounds low but look at the stat he still shot more than any othre players in his team i think it's more likely that the horrific chinese nt just can not move the ball well and get enough clearing to shoot the ball it's not like they try to 'freeze' yao. they tried but they are just not good enough.
He might not be as explosive as KG physically, but which 7 footer is? I think Yi's around 18 or 19 years old, definitely not 16. The kid got a bright future ahead of him. The most atheletic bball player China ever produced. Both of his parnets are hand ball players.
http://nbadraft.net/jianlianstory001.asp "Yi Jianlian the young Chinese superstar has been listed by Chinese National Team officials in the Olympic team's registration with a birthdate of October 27, 1984. This news is significant because it means that he will be 20 years of age in 3 months and is already eligible to enter the draft. It was originally reported by Chinese officials that Yi Jianlian was born in 1988, however there has long been speculation that he was actually older than his listed age. NBADraft.net had split the difference and listed him born in 1987 pending further word. "
It was also reported by some guys close to Yi's parents that his parents got married in 1985. Chinese usually have kids after they get married. Anyway, nobody can give the answer at this time.
I believe Yi's age is actually 17.But why recently some people always say Yi's age should be 19? The only reason is that his agent wants him to be drafted this year or next year.

That is Liu Wei (24 yrs old, 6ft 3, 190 lb), the best buddy of Yao Ming; they were both from Shanghai, trained in the basketball academy, played in the same team, Shanghai Sharks, and promoted thru the ranks thru the junior and now the senior national team. They always stick together both on court and off court, everywhere they go. Liu Wei is lightning fast and has decent handles. He is capable of knocking down wide-open 3-pointer shots consistently and crushing for offensive boards. He's not a great leaper (just learned to dunk last month), yet he was among the top rebounder in the China league. His CBA 2003/04 stats looked pretty impressive: 20 mpg, 19.8 ppg (53% FG%, 36% 3-pointer), 6.2 rpg, 4.5 apg, 3.0 spg, 1.8 topg. And the great news is that he had been invited by the Sacramento Kings for their summer training camp, immediately after the Olympic. Both CBA and Shanghai Sharks had gleefully agreed to release him for the trial. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp_sports/view/95574/1/.html
