Man, every day I log on, hopping for any rockets news, At least re-sign Padgett or something. Did CD take the whole summer off after the T-MAC deal? we're running out fo patience out here. look at what the magic have done since the trade. they signed turkoglu, bradley, got battie. We don't even have any summer league action, why is that?
You're right, I was really hoping we were gonna jump in there quicker and sign Derek Fisher to a 30-year, $496 million contract...
you do realize that the offseason lasts longer than one month right? It has been under 30 days since the FA signing period began...and we have made the biggest acquisition in the league...the only signing even in the same class as ours is Shaq...and even then..I consider gettng TM bigger since in 5 years...he will still be a Rocket...can you say the same about Shaq and Miami? like da Pimp said....speak for yourself....those of us that can look at things realistically are not panicking about the Rockets not throwing good money at bad players...
I think the Rocket are content for now. Their patience will pay off. They don't want to get lock into another long term contract with a sub-par player like they have been accustom to in the past. They players left on the FA market aren't names that floats their boat.
First, the Rockets are not in the summer league because it is reserved for teams with quite a few rookies or second-year players they want to get some competition. The Rockets don't have any rookies, so there is no need for them to play in the summer league. I mean, who would you expect to be playing anyway? Second, who cares if we are losing patience? The Rockets didn't sign Jim Jackson or Scott Padgett until right before training camp last year. It often seems like a lot of people think the Rockets are just stupid or lazy or something and somehow, we fans who do nothing but watch games and post on an internet BBS clearly know better. I don't get that.
I know we didn't get Gaines until late, but couldn't we have had him play for another team in the summer leagues? I seem to remember a few years ago that Devon George played for our team in the RMR. Can anyone explain that for me?

You know, I bet almost every last poster feels pretty close to you on that issue, but can't overcome the peer pressure that others put on them subconsciously. I bet just about everybody would have been happy with us getting Battie, James, Arroyo, Jones...... everyone has different reasoning behind their posts, but I bet 90% all twinged a little when they got scooped up, allbeit trades or FA, especially with the gaping holes we still have at the PG and backup 5. Dampier is still available, CD, pull that rabbit out your hat and make something happen before this team is mainly compiled with scrubs. They may be considering this is Yao's and Tracy's first season together so they'll be lucky to make the playoffs. OMG, I think I just did it, too.

They are just waiting for the pieces to fall in place. Damon Jones signs with Seattle and then the Rockets trade Spoon, Pike & Griffin for Daniels & Potepenko. Then we sign Badaine & Jon Barry to cheap contracts.
