Only one team can win a championship each year. 1 in 30 chance. If you go into any given year thinking "if we don't win a championship it is a failure" you are setting yourself up to have a bad time. It's okay to have some expectations as a fan, to expect the team to be competitive and to do its best to maximize their odds. But "championship or bust" every year is just setting yourself up to be angry and disappointed. Relax a little and enjoy the journey!
Wait... about half a month ago,I remember we were still talking about how **** and boring the team is. But right now we are looking forward to getting title By the way, where is Slias Appreciation Thread?
Phase 2 Rincee and repeat. Draft another young player and win 2-5 more this next year. Prediction 25-30 wins at best. I just don't see Udoka being anymore better than Silas. He only had great players to begin with in Boston, that's why he was so successful. I just don't buy all the hype people say about this coach. Also... Who they signing in free agency? Dillon Brooks lol.
Exactly this. Then we begin Phase 3, in which we get back into the WCF, then the finals, and eventually win a chip.
Statements like this from Tilman scare me...seriously. Overall, I really dug how they handled Phase 1. ( except not taking Mobley) But, the next phase could go a lot of different directons, and again.... I don't want to accelerate it TOO fast. No Superfriends. Yes, we need to win this year, but it needs to have a heavy organic tint to it. We need to stay pretty young. Slightly below .500 ish by the end of the year. This needs to be set up for the long haul.
Yes, no pressure, right? What an incredibly stupid thing for the guy to say. If it came from someone else, I’d assume the fellow was kidding. We currently have one of the youngest teams in the league, 2nd, I think, coming off of 3 horrific seasons under a mediocre coach (and that’s being kind), and Fertitta says this. The “easiest” thing to achieve would be being squeezed into the playoffs with the gimmick the league has now, and that would be a miracle. I’ll never forgive Alexander for selling our team to this chump.
The team would get 30+ wins in 2022-23 if Silas and his on-field deputies did not mishandle. They should be put in to basketball equivalent of Spandau/Belmarsh/Metris/Alcatraz. A new top pick, another mid 1st rounder, 1 more year experienced JGreen/Sengun/Tari/Bari, an average coach, possible 2 vet signing will bring you more than 32 wins. If not, let's close the shop. No need to another 2010s Kings-like franchise.
