IF Boston lose Game 6, will they breakup their nucleus? IF the Rockets do not get the #1 draft pick, will they trade the pick? THEN WHO will they trade? I think the ONLY untouchables are, Green and Jabari. I love Tari but I think everyone else is open for debate.
I'd trade Sengun for an Udoka promise not to sexually abuse anyone and a good 3 point shooter thrown in. Seems fair!
If Boston loses they will keep Tatum and Brown but might build differently around them. is this another subtle ‘Brown to Houston’ thread?
If Brown doesn't get on one of the All-NBA teams, he's gone. But for us to get him, he needs to publicly ask a trade to us, so We don't get outbit by OKC. The chances of that happening are very slim IMO.
Why don’t we target Smart instead of Brown and Harden. Should cost less in draft capital and money. Of course, this only if we don’t get Scoot in the draft.
any way of reworking that to spell D.I.M.W.I.T. asking for a friend ps. NOT a knock against OP, just wondering if our Acronym Super Squad can rise to the occasion
Their nucleus are mostly in their 20s, and Brown is the only one not locked up for multiple years. Their question might be if they have the right coach. But he’s a first year guy who should continue to grow with the team. I think a panic move would be a bad idea for them. If Jaylen Brown indicates he will not sign an extension and will test free agency, I’d probably try to find a deal for him if I were them. But, if that’s the case, the Celtics will not have much leverage.
Most likely Boston would just fire Mazzulla and maybe make some trades to shuffle some roleplayers around. They could use more rim protection. Brown will make All-NBA and won't pass up the chance at a supermax extension.
Sengun is untouchable. Tari should be too. Green and Jabari should be near untouchable. But no surprise that the usual haters start a thread and comment to basically promote their anti-Sengun agenda.
We’ve only had two drafts to rebuild. That’s not enough. We shouldn’t be approaching this draft with a Wemby or bust mindset. There are some really great prospects in the top half of the lotto. Wherever we pick, we are going to get another core piece, if Stone does his job. We better not trade this pick; we are not ready to start forgoing the draft in favor of veteran players. We need to dip into that well one last time.
2nd best record in the nba while being 13th in scoring. Along with every freaking player missing 15-20 games it's impossible he doesn't make the team. I'm glad that they made a minimum number of games to make the teams. With the Heat and Lakers doing well this postseason teams will just go for the 5-6th seeds gearing up for the playoffs and a better draft pick if not.
I would go as far as saying trade up for whomever is 2nd or 3rd on their rankings. They have the assets to do it. Clippers pick KPJ Martin Tate Christopher Garuba TyTy even Eason or Sengun if you think that Scoot or Miller is something will give you that 3rd scorer and piece to build with Green and Jabari. If the Rockets do end up 1-3 I would then consider trading the Clippers pick for a future pick. Try to trade up with that and Nets pick next season. Trading up this year is an option as well I really like Wallace especially if you can play him on the bench for a season or two behind Harden or VanVleet. Or maybe for some Dick. A good shooting Dick could be a good piece a sexy piece.
