He said they should be hugging him too. I think that’s a bit of a joke…

Howard is also notoriously insecure and narcissistic. It’s sort of silly making anything of these comments. He’s just playing that up. He’d probably complain if too many players greeted him, as well.

The real problem with Howard is that he won’t leave his basement since Covid and the shows got pretty bad. There’d be a good interview, but the rest of the show would be awful bits and impressions. All the improvised antics with the staff, the real heart of the show in my opinion, are gone. I finally had to cancel my subscription last year. If he’s not in the studio, I am not interested.

And Joe Rogan is a clown.

I do like the more mellow Howard, when I was much younger, I liked the old schtick. but I am much older now and I am glad he`s calmer. My all-time favorite growing up was Stevens and Pruitt on the mighty 101 KLOL , I miss those mornings going to school and listening to uncle waldo

For you youngsters, they will always be the Radio GAWDS of Houston Radio

    Time flies my friend.

Both have been dead.... for almost a decade.

Stevens would be almost 90 years old today and Pruitt would be nearly 80.

Stern isn't really relevant, especially in the world of athletics, so I'm not sure why he'd be butthurt about it... but he is one of the best interviewers out there.

Stern left terrestrial radio . . . he left alot of publicity and social capital for monetary capital

Going into the Sirius really took him off the map

Look at Jim Rome . .. I use to listen all the time . .but he left the Houston Market . .. I don't even know if he has a show anymore

Howard’s show got so much better on Sirius it was totally worth it. The first few years on Sirius were epic. It really changed the face of radio again, in my opinion. This was before the podcast explosion, which I think Howard’s move to Sirius partially helped usher in (of course technology was a huge part of that too). Not having to take commercial breaks every 15 minutes and having real, uninterrupted discussions exposed terrestrial radio’s flaws even more. It definitely took him off the map a little, but it was the right move. He just needs to stop fearing everything and get his butt back in the studio. I’’d definitely think about subscribing again if he did.

Jim Rome is no longer in Houston, but he’s still all over the place in other markets. He’s in Maryland where I (unfortunately) live now. Trust me, you’re not missing anything.

The thing is . . . You knew him from Terresterial radio . . .but Finding NEW LISTENERS is not as easy
I would suspect he slipped a bit in listenership
