Honestly, if and when we have Wembanyama on the team, it'll be very difficult to see any bad as a diehard. Getting to the point where we can have an X's and O's discussion on who should play where or who is affected, will take what.... a month maybe? From the 16th of May to the 16th of June, will just be celebrations. Save for the few pessimists here. I can't even get to the point where I consider who is affected right now.

Wemby would fix almost everything that is wrong with this team on and off the court by himself. Player only fans who still want to b**** and moan about "their guy" with him on the team should be banned!

For nearly an hour on May 16, Clay Allen will hold much of the future of the Rockets in his hands. He will have done nothing to put it there. He will be able to tell no one.

For the third consecutive season (and he hopes the last), Allen, the Rockets' general counsel, will be their designated observer in the NBA draft lottery drawing room.

“I’m hoping this time to get a similar outcome and to get an even better outcome.”

In Allen's previous trips to the drawing room, the Rockets won the second pick, giving them the right to choose guard Jalen Green, and the third selection, allowing them to get Jabari Smith Jr.

“When I was asked if I was interested in doing it again, my response was, “If you think I’ll be the good luck charm this year, I’m happy to go.’

“‘So far, you’ve been good luck, so let’s do it again.’”

It would be even better if Allen is remembered as the executive who delivered the first pick of the 2023 draft.

He knows how he will react if he does.

“In the last couple years, the No. 1 pick (winner) just kind of sits there stoically, smiles, maybe a small movement,” Allen said. “But if we’re the No. 1 pick, I’m going to be jubilant.”

We are not getting #1, stop it. Start looking at Miller highlights.

Why not we are tied for the best odds??

Plus if the NBA really wants to push him who’s franchise is trending in the right direction??

    Spurs
    Rockets
    Detroit

How many players in NBA history were 7'4" and above who didn't have careers riddled with injuries?

It comes down to luck. We've been lucky before. Really lucky. So lucky, two years in a row, that the league changed the draft lottery. Bye bye coin flip, after we made out like bandits.

First with multiple winner of College Player of the Year - 7'4" Ralph Sampson of Virginia, followed by the best big man in his year, or any other year, Akeem Olajuwon of our University of Houston Cougars. I think it's time we got lucky again. If we do, I just hope the French kid holds up in the tough NBA. He clearly has the talent.

Idk how some rockets fans underestimate this aspect. When it comes to this kind of stuff, when there is behind the scenes shenanigans going on, the league has always been good to the Rockets. From the NBA's perspective, they WANT us to get the first pick. They WANT a generational talent in Houston over any of those other places. Wemby would obviously want to come to Houston over any of those places as well. The ideal situation for everyone involved is for him to be here.
