Suspect Memphis underwent a culture issue. He is just the guy who took the fall, I think, he wanted a bigger role and 25 million a year which is circulating around the web. The trash talking was just the tip of the iceberg for sure, maybe he had internal issues with players that were not disclosed. Memphis for sure is not Golden State where they might have led it slide. They waited likely long enough to see if Dillon could back up his words with elite play, he could not, it might be because Jenkins wanted him to do more playmaking. They sure are not championship caliber yet.
How about shooting 15 times a game at 35% then having the gall to demand a bigger role on offense? That's definitely a grave offense. If Nix walks up to Ime and asks for more shots he's getting cut too.
I said it when they were imploding in the Lakers series they need to make a move to shake up the locker room because their chemistry was wack and thats the main reason they lost vs the Lakers.
the main reason they lost is because they were missing their starting and back up center But yall love the soap opera drama
Can't wait to see who does better next season among the two of them when they are on new teams and have to start from the ground up with new teammates. Their reputation trajectory of a smash-mouth defenders is pretty similar (outside of the championships rings that Dray has).
“I’m not sure that the Grizzlies are making Dillon Brooks the scapegoat,” Redick said. “But whoever put that language and approved that language in the tweet, yeah, that person wants to make Dillon Brooks the scapegoat.” “I can’t remember a time in my 17 years either being in the NBA or covering the NBA where we’re in the second round of the playoffs, the day of a game where two of the greatest players ever are getting ready to square off, and we’re just tweeting out things for engagement,” Redick said without naming Charania. “Is that where we’re at? I’d be willing to bet that language didn’t come from the Grizzlies. This is the problem. It’s agenda-driven media. I have a problem with it!” “To me he’s not the scapegoat. And whoever’s agenda it was to tweet that out, I got a problem with that!” Redick said. “I don’t understand why you have to kick a guy while he’s down. For engagement? Really?”
It was LeBron. What Brooks said hurt LeBron because it was the truth. The truth hurts. He's old. He can't dominate anymore and he didn't dominate the Grizzlies. Yeah, yeah, he got Brooks, but he ain't big game. The real bear on the Lakers is Davis.
I see Dillion Brooks as a player like Marcus Smart and Jimmy Butler. No, he cannot shoot that well, but he certainly is much better all around player than he is being made out to be. He is our best premier defender by a mile. So while they might not bring him back, they will need someone significant to replace him. I’ve heard they want to go after OG Anunoby, well I don’t really think he is the answer honestly. The grizzlies woes began with them removing vets from the team: Kyle Anderson was a big loss, but also to a lesser degree was Melton. In favor of younger, less proven talent. I also feel that the grizzlies jumped the gun with trading Jonas, who took a lot of pressure off of Jaren. Combine that with the fact that the grizzlies whiffed big time with their top ten draft pick (Zaire Williams) and you see a lot of bad decisions. Of course the injuries played a part as well. And the fact that Ja was not committed to basketball more than toting guns around and beating up high school students. Not to mention the fact that Taylor Jenkins comes from the Budholzer school of basketball and that brand of basketball has gotten predictable it seems. There are a lot of problems on the grizzlies and Dillon Brooks really isn’t one of them.
