You know what helps when refs aren't giving you free throws? Actually hitting your shots, I mean.... Scott Foster didn't score 50 pts for Curry today. If he did then has Harden ever had a Foster performance?
With Harden gone and the Rockets being irrelevant for 3 years I've been able to watch basketball w/o nearly as much bias. It's obvious to anyone who is not a big time homer that Harden is a bad playoff performer, and the refs excuse is just that, an excuse. Real star players come through at least once, twice, 3x etc. Not every time, but most of the time. Jimmy Butler, Curry, Durant, Giannis, Booker, Jokic, etc. All those guys have been able to have great games in the Playoffs way more consistently than Harden has. If Harden was trying to be a top 5 player, then he needed to come through in the Playoffs more.

The reason he wasn't getting free throws in the playoffs is because he pretty much flopped and tricked the refs all season long. In the playoffs you have to earn those free throws. Curry hits big shots, same with Butler... Those dudes get the benefit of the doubt because you know they are big time when the lights are bright. Harden on the other hand shrinks , he just can't handle it. Look, Harden was an amazing regular season player. One of the best offensive players of all time but he just wasn't made for the Curry or Butler moments. Its okay to accept this, done make excuses for him...
I think the only game that i have seen that can rival game 7 Foster was game 5 finals 2016 LeBron (and maybe game 1 2018 finals LeBron). Outside of those 2 games, it's the single most dominant performance any individual has had in an important playoff game that i have seen. Maybe the Dirk 48 points on 15 shots game, but that wasn't an elimination game or anything.
huh, wtf are you talking about willis... ive watched every single sixers game this year that harden has played. And this year was hardens lowest free-throw rate since his rookie year in okc. Also the league has tried to nerf harden in 3 seperate off-seasons. That shows how dominant harden was, that the league had to take drastic measures to prevent harden from embarassing defenders every night lol. If the league wanted to nerf the 3 point bombing in the league right now all Adumb Silver would have to do is move the 3 point line back, and the mid-range jumper would go back in style.

Harden showed up consistently small in big spots for Houston in the play offs and homers here defended him so hard. It was ridiculous.
