Jake Fischer: Rockets have discussed Jalen Green trade

^this. It's less about what us or local media think; Tilman / Stone will have a hard time saying NO to Harden if Harden asks to return. If Philly situation is good and Darryl offers Harden good money, situation might not even play out.

 

Who even is this Jake Fischer person? I see a lot of sourced pieces from him from time to time, but what's the hit rate?

Is he one of those "oh, JF said it, so u gotta take it serious now" types or is he a Ric Bucher type?

 

Jake is fairly credible, he's plugged in. That said for this particular news; take it with a grain of salt. GMs chat all the time, and often those scenarios lead to nowhere.

So even if the topic was bought up, as fan base, we probably shouldn't over-react.

 

I would trade Green for Luka, and I can’t 100% discard it

 

Don’t really disagree with anything since there are so many variables.

The thing I disagree about the most is matching up the timelines/primes of players when we have no idea who will be on our roster in 2 or 3 years.

 

Compared to guys like Woj, he pulls the trigger on rumors from a mere one sentence discussion. Hence his hot rate on correct predictions is much lower than someone like Woj who only reports when he's confident that the discussion is a meaningful one.

 

So the mouthpiece of the Org that hosts Gatlin and the rest of Rockets Twitter in a suite is going to refute a rumor?

this is just damage control and for what I don’t know. Green being available isn’t shocking. The team is bad and we hired a coach who last coached in the finals. Sometimes trades involve young players.

I think we should keep Jalen. Need to continue the tradition of amazing Asian players, such as Yao Ming and Jeremy Lin. Maybe add Kyle Anderson.

Yes young players have been traded before.

That said if it was true, are folks just 'offended' that it was bought up? Jalen Green has value, and if i'm another team, and Rockets asks me for my good players, why wouldn't I ask for Green. Jabari had a mix year, and Sengun's archtype is as a mystery to Rockets as it is to other teams.

On Green, the Rockets could say NO obviously, but that doesn't mean the GM conversation didn't happen.



At least publicly right now Rockets is saying they're committed (which btw from a PR standpoint is the correct thing to do; even if the convo did happen).

 

Jake F guy has been out there a few years, but you can tell by how he phrased it that this rumor is extremely ambiguous.

I would think that our front office in adding a new head coach, and being at the precipice of Phase 2 have discussed moving everyone.

and remember that, unless this lottery pick ends up top one or two, Jalen Green is still our best trade asset by far. I love him, and I think he is going to end up being way better than Devin Booker. BUT we may try to tool a veteran team around James Harden, or someone like Luka could become available.

We need to be open to all possibilities.

 

I mean it is too early to announce that also as a smart franchise.

The franchise brand should be protected no doubt.

No negotiation ground whatsoever possible with announcements like that, all those young stars have not proven anything in the Playoffs or the season.

 

They shut down the CP3 Trade to OKC too....they aren't telling a Reporter anything......like reading a bunch of people that are posting for the first time......lol.

They might trade anyone, been saying that forever, and it is 100% still true.

The ROX aren't telling Jackson, Roosh, Clutch or anyone anything about a potential trade or what was discussed because if it doesn't happen it hurts their relationship with the player.

We are all just going to sit here and watch and react, no matter what the org tells people what they want them to hear.
